    I will do

I will get help with this in the morning

Thank you for your patience, very much appreciated
  • this is just one of the things that need to be checked , others to follow later if that does not prove to be helpful

get the name of your router , ie sky0XXXXXX from the bottom of the unit of look which one you sre logged onto (on your phone) then you are working on the right device

your friend may have to log onto the router , the log in number ie: 192.168.0.1 will be on your router as well as the password FOR THE ROUTER (as well as wifi)

    Buffering, you using Kodi?
  • at the moment I am just presuming they are just using amazon , I like you(?) use kodi , even use it for TV (nuc /openelec) and even though on about 70 meg and a wired connection suffer from filmon tv dropping

Seen loads of Firesticks with huge builds on them, not set up properly and then the user tries to stream 1080p, at best the thing buffers, at worst it falls over.
  • I had one loaded with that "hushman" wizard , once loaded it had just about everythink known to man , I think there was about 2k of memory left! , alas it was removed and a simple TVMC type install used instead.

I don,t rate the stick , but the MK2 fire tv is very good , just awaiting decent instructions how to flash it to a basic androd (without play store and diallers) , and then run a kodi

I used your recommendation and set up a NUC for a Plex/Kodi client, I've all the power and disk space I need :-D

Every one seems to want "The Beast" on devices that just can't handle it and so many want to cut the cable and rely on it for live TV. Sadly not helped by sellers who promise the world.
  • true , I have a spare toy lying around , I build a "mini" itx setup for a guy and he does not use it
