Your request would be..."I had a ticket for flight x on y date" the flight was cancelled. As per EU261 in event of flight cancellation I am entitled to reroute or refund. No suitable rebooking was offered so I am requesting the refund of the ticket"0 -

That is exactly what I told them over the phone. This just seems like them trying to skim past refunding anything.0
