I love/he hates - Hoarders, Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners, The Hoarder next door, Olives, Animals, Horror Films.

He loves/I hate - Racing, Football, Rugby, any other sport, Neighbours(The Soap) Any Bourne Film.

I love football, OH hates it. He loves soaps, I just about put up with em.

He doesn't read & i have a whole wall of books (but i don't want to share my bookshelves anyway!). I have learnt to endure football/cricket/rugby/grand prix on TV (mostly with a book in my hand).

I think as long as your fundamental values are compatible it doesn't matter if someone else thinks marmite is other than Evil.

I wonder how many settled couples would be paired up by dating agencies if they signed on to their sites?

She loves Aussie soaps. I do not.
I love Doctor Who. She... tolerates it. I think my enthusiasm puts her off a bit.
She enjoys wine. I think it tastes horrible.

But the most different:

She likes Made in Chelsea. Not to be too harsh or anything, but I wish that show would die in fire (or a storm like the one in Mad Max) and cannot understand how anyone could enjoy watching those vacuous, irritating... ah, I'll just get angry. Let's leave it at "It's not my cup of tea."

I didn't realise until this thread made me ponder, but we tend to dislike most things the other loves. The biggies are:


I'm fanatical about cooking, and have a cooking blog.
She hates cooking and has cooked 2 dinners in 5 years.


I listen to very heavy metal.
She loves One Direction and Rihanna.


I like foreign, intellectual, science fiction, and documentary films.
She loves cheesy horror, love, and drama films.
(But we're both film buffs)


I love drinking and the pub.
She's been drunk twice in five years, and hates most alcohol.


I like a good gamble.
She abhors gambling.


I watch and follow almost all sports.
She cannot stand sports.


I think X Factor can do one.
She loves X Factor.


I'm a technology nerd.
She struggles to turn the telly on sometimes.


There's not a single food I don't eat, or wouldn't try.
She's hugely fussy and refuses anything she doesn't already know.




Kinda makes me love her even more!

Television.
He could sit glued to it for three hours at a stretch.
I can only stomach it if I'm doing something else at the same time, usually cross stitch or knitting, or sometimes online surveys on the laptop; and then I can't handle more than an hour in one go.

Beyond that we're both too laid back to be bothered .
It helps that neither of us follow any sports though!

She loves shoes and make-up and shopping generally. I will only go shopping when I absolutely have to and have never owned more than perhaps 10 pairs of shoes at any one time.

She is always cold, I'm always boiling hot.

She takes 3 hours to get ready which drives me mad. I need 15 minutes.

She gets angry really easily in the car in a shop etc. I am someone who always avoids conflict / complaining.

I love to read she doesn't.

She loves to stay up late but I prefer to be in bed for midnight.

I love drinking she doesn't.

However we both love animals, cars, eating out, movies, lazy weekend mornings and more things I can't think of right now!

We both hate nightclubs (both feel too old) and bad driving. There must be more but it's actually quite hard to think of these things!

Mrs loves Vegetables I hate. (I reckon the humble spud is the only veg I like).

I love Eggs but Mrs hates them.

I hate ALL TV soaps.....................She's a woman.
