You can just take the test. If it comes back positive there's some form you can sign to say you disown/relinquish all responsibility for him

A parent can't relinquish all responsibility for a child unless someone else wants to legally adopt him or her.

    Hi all,

I have lived between the UK and the US all my life, the mother is in the UK. At the very first claim I disputed paternity and it went away for a while, came back and went away.

Again, every time the letters DNA are raised, she closes the claim down.

From the last claim the CSA told me there was a balance owed of around 7 grand, they had paid it to her and were looking to collect it back from me? I do ofcourse, stand to be corrected but this is what I was told.

I know her first name, the childs first name and nothing more.

What a load of tosh =/ why should I be forced to pay £hundreds/month towards a kid I didn't want just because a condom might break & the woman is unreasonable.

Without a DNA test you can only be forced if you're on the birth certificate? Are you?
Shouldn't the guy have to give authorisation to be added to the birth certificate? What if next month my sister puts down Brad Pitt as the father?

In the case of the OP, by doing nothing at the time, he accepts the charge.

Because that's the law. If you bring a child into the world, you have responsibilities for the next 18 years.

If a couple aren't married, a man has to be present (or have signed the relevant paperwork) for his name to go down as the father.

Even if his name is on the birth certificate, he can still ask for a dna test. If it proves the child isn't his, he won't be responsible for payments.

And yet you may have 0 desire but have it forced upon you by the woman. I wonder if you could sue Durex to pay the child support in such situations

I wonder how many men actually take that into account before dipping their wick?

Once a child is born the interest of the child comes first, irrespective of the parents choices.

There is a possibility that a child may be conceived whenever a couple have sex. If you want to have sex, you have to be prepared to take the consequences.

So you don't know anymore about her but she knew enough about you for the CSA to trace you.
