Hi everyone
I'm sneaking on at work. I really shouldn't be but I've got nobody I can tell here, and I want to burst! I managed to rejig my November budget and I have just managed to pay the final balance of my DMP to Stepchange.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry, or scream or shout. I have completely skinted myself for the next 24 days but didn't want to wait a moment longer. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Banking checked. There is a discrepancy of £7.99 which was for having a pair of boots re-heeled. I paid for it on my debit card about 3 weeks ago but it hasn't come out of my bank account. How long do companies have to process debit card transactions? Or do I take it that I've got away with it?
<Ex-banker.
Unlike cheques there is no set timescale that this has to happen within.
Usually a debit card transaction will show as off your available funds within 24 hours and fully off your account within 48 hours. However, sometimes it can take longer. You can't assume you've got away without paying until 7 years have gone by.

Wow, CCL - Massive well done & congrats! What a fab start to the weekend!
F X2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!0 -
Great news CCL.
