When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym .

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important. :money:

    Hello,

    I just woke up from a really strange nightmare in which I was getting revenge on someone for a horrible crime against me by holding them captive, torturing them and contemplating murdering them. And in the middle of all that I rang my boss to apologise I wouldn't be in for work that weekend.

    I may be a vicious, scheming, criminal but I always keep my boss informed when I'm going to be off from work! Don't want any work non-attendance warnings when I'm locked up in jail for pre-meditated murder and abduction because that wouldn't be MSE! (I am actually a Personnel Manager). :rotfl:

    So, when I'm not evading capture by the Police or seeking Psychiatric help this is what I'll be doing today:

    Debt-Free Nillionaire Month 5:

    * RM Surveys.

    * i-Say.com surveys.

    * Going for check-up at the doctor. I think I may need a higher dose of thyroid hormone.

    * Paid rent as soon as wage arrived.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Thanks for the early start Ally. Hope you're now sound asleep again dreaming of a nice warm comfy police cell following your revenge (scary it was so detailed though - what had they done to you?)

  • Morning all :D
    Well I seem to have the laptop almost working. My Microsoft Edge won't work any more and it turns out that my antivirus isn't supported with Edge. No biggie - I've gone back to Explorer for the time being...
    Means I've missed a whole evening of internet work and gossip but I'm just grateful to have this up and running again to be honest. Plus it's Friday :j
    List for today:
    :) do not stress
    :) check banking and PAD
    :) mark 2 sets of books so I can have a weekend off from working
    :) leave a list of jobs for dh
    :) shopping night but it's dh turn to pay which means I will bag another nsd :T
    :) leave some free adware blocker running while I go to work
    :) load of washing
    :) rejig budget for the rest of the month (I have a plan lurking...)
    :) use any spare time I have this evening to catch up properly on here.
    Have a good day everyone
  • Thanks for starting Ally. Hope daytime is a bit less dark for you :) hope everyone is ok and Bob and DNMS are feeling better. :hello: Karb - remember you from long time ago, welcome back :D

    My list for today:

    Leftover fruit for my breakfast, porridge for smalls
    Lunch last nights leftovers
    Am going out for dinner with an old friend, but have discount at ready :D and all budgeted for
    One washing already drying on agrees/ rotated on radiators, another in
    PAD to CC
    Friend paying me for order tonight, will put profit to CC too
    Quick tidy round before I leave for work
    Book nursery for DD2 for next few weeks for 1 day, not strictly money saving as will have to pay but it's money already in my vouchers account that I can't get back and we want to get her used to going more than 1 day before preschool in Jan. why do they grow up so fast :eek:
    Check on ripening toms, Took ripe banana out yesterday so I could eat it so may need to buy new green banana if not red yet :T

    Think that's about all, have a good day everyone :D
  • Hi guys :wave: thanks for starting the thread ally. I agree dark dark thoughts going on in your subconscious!

    Thanks for everyone's support yesterday. I did have a nice time with my db & aunt yesterday, but it is a double edged sword because we often talk about my mother & our extended family which was abusive & dysfunctional. Being older than me they both remember a lot of things I don't which them just adds to my confusion over it all. Why don't I remember all of this stuff???

    Am starting work today :eek: need to be there at 5.30 this evening. Hope it's ok...

    I didn't get the job I interviewed for on Thursday. It's a mixed blessing as I wasn't sure it was the right position for me. I got good feedback and they said other than the person they appointed I was the only other candidate who was appointable to the role but they said I came across a little bruised...

    Small things I will do today:

    * make dgd's packed lunch & bag for cm
    * check banking & reconcile accounts
    * all meals from stores - well I am actually contemplating getting a Thai green curry from Lidls on my way home this afternoon. Have been moments away from getting a Thai takeaway these last few nights. Only been put off as it would mean going out to collect :o
    * hang up washing & put another load in
    * ms assignment this morning
    * hopefully I'll get a chance to get in the garden today as didn't yesterday

    Ok better get on time's ticking! Happy Friday everyone x

  • ally blimey where did that come from? I have had some strange dreams this week too.

    dnm hope tonight goes OK. As for the other job, well maybe it wasnt meant to be. An odd thing to say to you though!

    I looked at my finances again last night and I am going to struggle not to go into the red this month. Its not a complete disaster but I need to be very careful.

    Washing off the airer and finishing off in tumbler, packed lunch made, heating off as its very mild here. Off to get ready for work now.
