I've finally decided what I'm going to put my money towards when I open my pot! I start university next year and because of how full on that will be I think I'll put it towards going travelling somewhere in the summer when I finish my first year! I know this isn't very money-savingesque but if I've saved for it I don't feel as bad spending it

I think that's a fabulous idea, parksandrec! Whether it's very MSE or not is totally irrelevant as we also need to save in order that we can enjoy life. If the last 3 weeks have taught me anything, it's that we all need to live life while we can, not wasting money, but enjoying saving it and then spending it as we need. Look forward to having a fantastic time!! :jWell done with that extra £1.

Well done with your latest wallet raid, Dizzy Imp, though it's grossly unfair of him not to treat you to a note, well now and again at least. :D

I guessed you'd know exactly what I was talking about re the chicken, siju, cor doesn't that ammonia pong! BTW, a gold star to you for a great ideafor parksandrec. :staradmin Great potting too!

You get badges with the Fitbit Sue, it tells you how far you have walked. I think my last one was the Japan badge, but I'm not positive Is your car a Toyota by any chance? I got an airbag recall letter which said they would let me know when they had the stock in and I should take the car in then. They haven't let me know yet.

It's been snowing here today, and there was thunder which sounded like an explosion.

    65p potted today.

No, not a Toyota, 32b3, ours is a Honda CRV (for towing) and were they ever long-winded about it all too! :( It literally did take months! Still, all finished now. I hope yours doesn't take too long as it's always nice to get these things sorted. BTW yes, re Fitbit, I've quite a stash of badges, the latest one being a Spaceship for climbing 14000 lifetime floors!! :j Just imagine doing that lot in a day!!!

YAY!!! That £20 win is just amazing, Westie, very well done!!!!! :T
    Good saving again, Chutney!
£3.50 potted today. Pot nearly full now but I have another empty one waiting to be fed! :D

It's good to know you're well prepared, Dragon Lily! Keep dropping it in and it won't be long. :D

I'm still chucking everything silver and copper in my pot so it isn't going hungry. Just no £1 coins lately. We've paid for a tree to be chopped down, £200, hired a wood chipper and then my laptop conked out and a new one cost £289 from T3sco but at least I got the points with it.[/IMG]

Oh dear Modesty, why do these things always seem to come at once I wonder.....to make sure we have one good moan and get it over with perhaps! :rotfl: Fingers crossed!!

A tough week and yesterday was the funeral of our dear friend's son, the crematorium was absolutely packed with so many standing all around too, some comfort for his wife, children and parents to know he was liked so very well.
Our DD had another appointment with her Neuro consultant as well, as she's relapsed again she now needs to go onto another drug IF she hasn't had chicken pox! If she hasn't then she can't have it, and guess who can't remember whether she and her brother have or not. :undecided Too many years gone by with too many kiddie ailments.

Enjoy a WONDERFUL BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND, Potters! Don't let your pots go hungry!

Glad to hear the funeral went as well as and was well attended Sue. Sorry to hear about your DD and hope she's soon rebounding a bit. Wouldn't her medical notes at the Dr include any childhood/teen infections such as chickenpox ??

Potted my weekly £10 today :j

Hope you all have a lovely bank holiday weekend. My DH doesn't get bank holidays - gets days in lieu - so we won't be doing anything special this weekend

    Afternoooooooooooooooooooooon Potterssssssssssssssssss

Where have I been?? I can see you all missed me desperately :D

Life just getting in the bloomin way, DS is about to take his GCSE science's in 3 weeks  and is nowhere near prepared so i've spent the last 2 weeks making him tests, explaining what he doesnt understand etc. I've had to completely relearn all my GCSE science these last 2 weeks, but fear not, I now know that a food cycle can only hold 5 levels and what a Heterotroph is! Things that will no doubt stand me in good stead in my twilight years :rotfl:

Finally bought DD her first phone on friday, she has spent most of the weekend texting me where she is and various random questions as she's quite impressed with this new toy *rolls eyes* Still it means I can now allow her to roam out of our street and at £5 a month for 150 mins, 5000 texts and some data (plus the free phone!) I thought that was a bit of a bargain :D

Well I have still been feeding my pots and they are both looking decidedly fat, DH went to the pub and brought me home 2 x £2 coins so I was smiley happy :D

Right I am currently crocheting a ripple blanket whilst cooking dinner so I will have to love you and leave you all, and try not to be a stranger for so long next time!

Haven't popped in here for a while but my SPC Savings Account is looking rather more healthy than the pot itself. It's had a slight interest rate increase which was a nice surprise. My pot has been glued back together as my dog hit it off of the side with his tail and it smashed. It has some sentimental value so I don't want to throw it away.

I will soon have met my target which is good news as it'll be my clothes fund for next year, so the more the better.

More often than not I'm using the pot money and paying the same (or more) into the account, but at least it is being saved one way or another which is an improvement on last year's attempt.
