I have £37.10 left in February's housekeeping and I go on holiday on Saturday. All I want to buy tomorrow is a newspaper and I am sure I can pot the rest.

However, I am grumpy today as I went to get some foreign currency. I checked the exchange rate on line before I went to a local bureau and realise too late that I didn't get the on line advertised rate. Can you imagine how that felt - it was at least 10% less! I was not amused. So glad I only got £200 worth.

I'm usually so on top of things. Not at the moment. I still have to pack which I find so hard to do.

    Evening

Sounds like you had a great time Sue. Well done on the potting.

Have a lovely holiday frogletina. The exchange rates are terrible at the moment. The BREXIT matter isn't helping at all is it :(

    £2.58 potted today.

Brilliant saving, MrsC....tobe, where there's a will to save....you have it!! That was a GREAT find with the £30 in the card...and now all that in the paperwork too?! However, does that belong to your firm??! If so, I wouldn't feel at all comfortable in taking it home!!

Oh no it definitely doesn't belong to them. It was a couple of boxes of old paperwork of mine that I took out of the loft, sorted, recycled what I could then took the rest in for shredding as I don't have a shredder at home. The cash was in a couple of different envelopes. Glad I checked them all before I shredded the contents!

  • I took £100 out of the bank last Saturday to pay everything for the week out of, including all the things I had to buy on Saturday. I knew this was going to be more than I needed, I just didn't realise by quite how much! I think I'm going to be potting around £40 tonight! That'll be more than a weeks worth of days into the penny savings! I don't mind doing this as it was payday yesterday so the start of a new month for me. There was also some pennies left over from last months pay, about £150 worth of pennies I think, that I will transfer to the credit card. Will be going for my Friday night bottle of wine first mind you....

In the midst of doing my own little finance review before I have to start paying for my new windows in September so will be getting rid of as much as I can before then.

I found 36p in my coat pocket today, so potted that, but had to use my change for car parking this week, so that's all at the moment.

Sorry to hear you've been feeling down !!!!!!. Life can sometimes get like that can't it? Sending hugs and hoping your weekend is relaxing :)
  • Ach. Forgot I bought tickets for an event meaning that the rest of the pay was taken care of but I'll get money back for them so I can use it when I get it.

Pong having the bottle of wine, went to the shop for fresh apple juice, fresh orange juice, and some milk. £3 instead of £4.99.

That leaves £42 for the pot :)
