£3.00 potted for me today. I'm actually enjoying not spending money, using up food I already have at home. Got to get some food shopping tomorrow so I have searched the Internet for coupons. Any money left in purse will be potted tomorrow :-)

A shiny gold star to you, Lynne :staradmin

.....just as well as it's DH's & my 44th Wedding Anniversary  and we're off round to DD & family.

So sorry to hear you're not well, Lynne, I hope you're soon able to shake it off. I read the bit about your DH and said to my DH "what's trunking?!" "Never hear of it" says he. I read on further and realised he's obviously a TRUCKER! :rotfl:Anyway, back in the serious worl, I sincerely hope he listens in to the reports and arrives safely home!!!
Firstly - a huge Congrats to you and DH for your 44th. Hope you had a lovely time with the family :D

    Thanks for the star.

I have an annoying non-productive cough and the sniffles. Currently wearing some V*ck which seems to ease the cough :)

Trunking is when you do a regular HGV 1 run, usually between two depots. My DH is on a night run from Dunfermline to Newcastle with a load, waits for a load to come up from Leeds and returns that load to Dunfermline, and at least it's good money as on night-rates and three hours a night o/t. He's phoned that he's in Newcastle so fingers xd no more snow tonight :)

Go on, jakes-mum! Let little Lily help you out this time round, it'll mean the world to her - and - she'll remember it all her life as it's always such a huge thing to you!!! :A Excellent saving on all your goodies - amazing!!!!!!!!!! :T

Ahh I really feel like I should Sue as she's so diligent about her 'roadkill' going into the pot, when she found her last 1p she gave it to me and I said 'you do know you can just pop your roadkill in the pot yourself don't you?' her little face lit up and she was like 'really??' and ran over to pot her 1p :D I then let her pot all the money I had changed up from counting up our uncles loose change, I swear she gets almost as much pleasure from it as me :rotfl:

Talking of Uncles change, I got it all changed up for him and DH took his notes back to him, he sent DH back with a £5er for me as a thank you for cashing it up . . . I said to DH 'does he not know by now that giving me a big tub of change to count is the best present I could ever receive?' :rotfl: So £5 into the pot from there :D

Also had over £10 in change I closed down the old ISA's and moved the final bit of money over to the new ISA's but decided to keep all the shrapnel as I felt it would just be rude to expect the bank teller to count it all ;)

    Congrats on 44 years Sue!

Well done on the weight loss Dreamer Helen

Congrats to you Kerry on your exams

I must now go and figure out how the heck i'm going to make DD a skylanders cake 'I want my figures on top of my cake made from icing mummy, you can do that can't you?' . . . ummm, yes love, absolutely no problem at all, i'll get right on that for you  neeeeeeeeeeeeever should have made that bloomin minecraft cake! rod for my own back comes to mind :o

    *crawls out from the woodwork*

I'm aware I haven't been here (or saving!) for a good few months... unfortunately I've been unwell but slowly starting to recover, so I am back and hoping to start saving again. :)

Sue, could you add me to the list with a target goal of £500, please? And congratulations on your 44th wedding anniversary! :D

I hope everyone's been doing well. Hugs for you Lynne and for anyone else who needs them. I wish I could sign off saying I've potted something but I've just moved back to my mum's as my sickness resulted in me becoming unemployed, and I haven't yet unpacked. Long story short, I have three pots (one with at least £45 in from last year that I've not banked yet) and they're all in various boxes that I can't get at... I really can't justify buying a fourth!

Sorry to hear you've been unwell and now unemployed and sending posi-vibes that you're soon feeling better and find a new job fingers xd.

You are still on the list Selene, so your number will stay the same. I don't know if Sue will be able to add your savings from last year now when you find your pots in your boxes - but you could ask.

It's great that you have now returned. Maybe you can borrow a jar from your Mum as a temporary 'holding pot' until you find yours.

Thanks a million for the hugs and good luck with everything and the SP challenge this year

Thank you so much, Lynne. My doctor has signed me off work until the end of February, but hopefully after that I can start searching for a new job.

Ooh, I didn't see that! That's great :D I banked some of my savings but the building society don't have a branch near my mum's so it's going to be a couple of weeks before I get the opportunity to close my account with them.

I do have a Quality Street jar from Christmas but it's particularly conspicuous and not sealed -- not ideal. Will try to brainstorm places I can put it or smaller holding pot-esque objects.

Thank you so much and you too :) x
