MERRY BOXING DAY MY LOVELY POTTERS!
Ooooo well I just had a lovely day yesterday! I was awake at 5:50am! so had to have a rather stern word with myself that I am not 6 years old, Father Christmas doesn't visit me now and I'm supposed to be the person getting woken up by over excited children not the one waking everyone else upI did go back to sleep and DD woke us up at about 7:45 by patiently and *ahem* quietly sitting in our doorway with her iPad on watching the clock to get to 9am so she could officially wake us up!
Popped to my parents for some prezzies then we came home, locked the door and had some lunch then our Christmas dinner in the eveningI even managed a whole Christmas Day without my obligatory over tired, over stressed, feeling ill meltdown
I hope all of you had a lovely day too and I'm now going to get up, get dressed and go to the Boxing Day sales :rotfl: they have noooooo idea, but I'm dragging my 3 round hobbycraft so I can buy lots of crafty stuff that I have nowhere to put. . . . All so I can make sure I have change to pot obviously!
I shall return with much change for Mr potty McPot!SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a fantastic day yesterday!
I seemed to spend most of mine in the kitchen (drinking bailey's *ahem*) cooking christmas dinner, and opening every concievable present and playing with the kids until my living room looked like a bomb had gone off in Toys r us and landed all the toys and cardboard in my house!#
Anyway, Last week me and the OH were having a chat about saving for a deposit to put down on a house and we currently rent and want to eventually buy our own house. So we looked at mortgages, and despite him being on a good salary, for a decent 3 bedroomed house in any area we need more on a mortgage than we can get! (how is anybody supposed to own their own bricks and mortar in this day and age?), we also looked at part-buy, part rent, which we can afford, without a deposit of any sort we can't do that either!
So although he knew about this whole savings challenge I have been doing, (and he knows I have been swiping his change!) he wasn't that bothered, but after a good long chat about how we need to get our bums in gear if we want to own a house before we die, he agreed to start saving, and to get us started he gave me a £20 note this morning! I'm glad he is helping me! he earns more money than I do! haha
I also potted £3.09 would have been £4.19 but I dropped 10p on my bedroom floor which I am yet to find, and I slipped 50p into each of the kids piggy banks.
so thats a total of £23.09 (plus 10p when I find it) from me and the OH. Not bad for boxing day!
Have a good day at the sales for all those going! I'm going to nurse my baileys headache!

Lovely new name moonbeam, Sue will pop along soon and change it for you on the first post soon enough
Could you pop your number on your new sig for her? It was 54 in case you can't remember and to save you trawling for it
Don't worry about starting again, I think most of us have had to do so at some point! If you haven't already, maybe consider a holding pot for your change and then pot what is left in it each new payday so you know you can always get to your change if you need toand keep your eyes stuck to the floor and self service tills! There's always a discarded 1p to be found which our pots LOVE!
Aha I love my name - cos I like the egy punk fashion style & music but I'm trying to make people see that we aren't all that awful or totally against everything lol.
Thank you, That's really helpful.
I cut all my fingers up last night trying to get the change out so I can switch pots.
*ouchie*
I thought I only had a few quid but I actually do have around £9.00 (I can't remember if i posted earlier today) and I'll keep my sig updated as and when I pot the change.
I switched to a pot which is easier for me to open and I do have a pot where I would start to put money in for holding pot. I'm also including £10 to have in my secret stash in case I do run of money.
I'm hoping that 2016 would be a big year of saving for me,
I'd like to eventually move in with my partner so this year is focused on saving moneyMarNSD 5/20 | EF 3-6m #27 & EF #179 £212.35 / £2,700 | FH: £20.00 / £10,000 | Car £51.66 / £200 | Xmas £0.00 / £100.000 -

It's wonderful to hear that everyone enjoyed their Christmas Day, I hope you ALL have as good a Boxing Day too!! For those who aren't well or for whom Christmas isn't a good time, I hope you either soon feel much better/or can find something to do that you love.
Well done, lexbubbles.I hope you had a wonderful Christmas Day too....
...you too, hummingbird.Thank you for your good wishes everyone, we were at the hospital withing an hour and a half of him being delivered! First Granny squishes are the best!!! He's gorgeous ( but I could be biased). DD2 and her hubby are sooo proud of themselves, just sorry she won't be home until tomorrow because of a problem with her after delivery. DGD2 wanted to know what time Auntie M's baby would be delivered and would it be Tesco or Yodel :rotfl:
Ahhh, bless your little DGD2, Lucy...innocence of kiddies eh. I hope your DD was allowed home yesterday and that you all had a really wonderful celebratory Christmas Day. Have a great time and revel in the time they're staying with you.little_sweetie wrote: »First Granny squishes are definitely the best! Many congratulations lucyhope. Have a lovely Christmas. Another lover of Baileys eh, Lyndsey-michelle? My DH adores it, though it's only ever a Christmas tipple for him so he's always dubios as to when to have some in case it gives him a Baileys head! I hope yours is better now.
