Not sure why nurses are singled out as a special case. I find it a little patronising. It's a team effort, and, as someone has already pointed out, the porters, dinner ladies and cleaners are equally as important as I am.
If the consultant phones in sick, no-one really notices, if the cleaner does, we're all goosed.
My bone of contention is not the charges per se but rather the practice of Private Parking Companies who "manage" the car parks.
Not sure what's going on at Macclesfield Hospital, but it would seem that there's a lot of irregularities here.Illegitimi non carborundum:)0

You should have asked for the cleaner to do it then :rotfl:Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I did. They said they were all right with the scrubbing up part, but they would have needed the cooks to do the carving and houskeeping department to do the stitching. And not sufficient parking available.

I think its all part of this media construct where they have been dubbed "Angels" as if they were Florence Nightingales band of brave ladies tending to suffering in some sepia bygone era.
Modern nursing is miles from that but lazy journalists choose to treat them as some kind of charity case which of course they are not.
They choose the job presumably because they think they want to do it. They go to Uni,get qualified, get a good secure job with transferable skills and good pay. Whats not to like?Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

 Spot on.
A big bug bear, is that when PE took me to court (did I mention that they lost), it's likely that the care for my patients suffered as a result.Illegitimi non carborundum:)0

Exactly! I wrote to The Independent online, following their article on this, saying that NHS hospitals should be prohibited from employing PPCs; and saying that I can't see why they don't just install 'Pay on Exit' gates (as should all carparks IMO)0
