Support Nurses....

The Mirror has an article running about parking for Nurses at hospital sites:

There's a petition going to Jerry Hunt as well:

  • Signed, its bad enough for the patients/visitors to have to pay let alone the nurses. I wonder if the highly paid, non medical staff have to pay as well, I doubt it.

    Of course they do.

I get so sick of hearing this.

    The 'non-medical' staff ?

Which ones? The cleaners? The porters? The bed managers? Perhaps the procurements team? The HR director? let's examine further:

Cleaners - so you'd be happy to have a dirty hospital? Where bacteria can thrive?

Porters - So who should make sure the right equipment is in the right place? or that patients transferred to the correct clinic?

Bed Managers - So at a time when there is no funding, the managers try their best to make sure that as many beds are available as possible, but should patients wait in the corridor?

Procurements team - who negotiate over supply of drugs and equipment at the best possible price?

HR director who overseas 1000's of employees and manages recruitment in a difficult sector?

    - Simplistic, uneducated 'headline' comments like yours cause so much unnecessary hassle to people who just want to help.

Can you include me in the petition as well. I have nothing to do with nursing, do not work at any NHS sites but I have to pay to park for work as well.

I added the words HIGH PAID, I don't think you would include porters, cleaners etc in this, would you? These could well afford to pay if they don't already.

The Mirror article says the nurses are "hard up".

This cant be true as i believe the starting point is band 5 and from there its upwards and onwards..

    https://www.healthcareers.nhs.uk/about/careers-nhs/nhs-pay-and-benefits/agenda-change-pay-rates

What about "hard up" other people who are working but on even less than those payscales but have to commute and park to work? Needless to say i wont be signing.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

Why stop at parking, what about season tickets, lunches, and free eye liner?
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

And I included a high paid position.

It's a fact that nurses are paid more than cleaners or porters, so worth pointing out the important role they play. The highest paid people are consultants and clinical leads, who are also the worst for parking. Often taking up spaces of others and refusing to pay.

Also the ridiculous "key worker" housing scheme...
