Hello all
My case is perhaps a bit complicated
I have received two separate small claims solicitors letters, which is a trading name for LPC law.
Funny enough, the first letter was in relation to unpaid fines for July 2015 on my current new car. The date of this letter was 14/10/2015. The more recent letter is in relation to fines on my old car and cover the period of 2013 to July 2015. The second letter is surprisingly dated 20/10/2015, which is surprising because the presumed incurred fines occurred much before those for my new car.
Anyhow, unwisely I ignored all contact with UKPC upto now. This was based on advice from friends/neighbours.
1. The 14 days for the first SCS letter expired on 29/10/2015. I panicked on 27/10/2015 and called UKPC asking to discuss the matter with their legal department. I was told that this is no longer an option as the settlement was too far advanced. However, UKPC sent me a recorded letter ( signed for) the following day saying they will not follow up their letter before action for a further 7 day to allow me to contact them with a proposal. I feel that perhaps I should not have called them , but its too late. I unwisely did. So the legal advisor has given me till 6/11/2015 to respond to him.
2. The second SCS LBA letter has also given me 14 days. the later will expire on 5/11/2015. The second letter was sent to a flat in the same block of flats but not to my flat number. It was by luck that someone placed it in my letter box. Otherwise, it had mu name on it but the wrong flat number.
Most the PCNs are for "not parked correctly within the markings of the bay or space".
Combining both SCSs, there is at least £3000 at stake.
Im really lost now:
For he first SCS letter, which expired on 29/10/2015, and which UKPC has given me 7 further days to contact their legal advisor, who should I reply to and what should I write?
For the second letter which didn't have my correct flat number on it, but expires on 5/11/2015, do I respond or ignore given that it doesn't have my correct addrsss on.
I really appreciate any urgent advice
I am a tenant. the parking is free of charge. We have a parking permit but my wife uses that to park in our space. I park mine on the spaces outside the flat which are all part of the private land too.
I have read xxxLazydaisy thread on LBCCC . I would appreciate all replies, If xxxLazydaisy is reading this, I would really appreciate your responses

SCS are not acting as solicitors for parking events, and you've not received real LBAs.
A search of this forum for their name will yield lots of results.0 -
Thankyou
On the law society website, ive searched for LPC law ltd, which is the trading name of SCS, the address for LPC law ltd on the law society matches that on the foot end of the letter form SCSs.
Furthermore, the letter ends by stating: " please note that this letter is to be considered a letter before claim for the purpose of the practice direction on pre-action conduct. Please read this practise direction, in particular paragraph 4, concerning the courts powers to impose sanctions for failing to comply with its provisions"
Why isn't this a genuine LBA?0 -

@OP there are few so-called LBA's that satisfactorily fulfil the requirements of current practice directions and so it is doubtful that yours do either. A firm response is what is required as soon as possible - ignoring is certainly not the answer to dealing with these.
If you are able to scan the letters in - making sure that you remove your personal details and any barcodes and references - indeed any detail that would identify your case, you can then host the scans on such sites as Tinypic or Photobucket. Post the links to those documents back here - making sure that you change the http portion of the URL to hxxp and paste that in as text - rather than as a link (you cannot post links as a newbie) and one of the regulars will convert that for you so we can see the content of the LBA's
It is common for letters emerging from such outfits to seemingly get held up in the post - the intention being to place greater pressure on you when you receive them, thinking you only have 7 days left of a 14 day window. My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -

You can scan the images using a scanner but if you are not very experienced this could end up being a long evening.
It may be quicker to type up the main body of the letters - omitting anything that might identify the case. Long winded I know but you may well find it easier.
I have a generic response to LBA's but have a feeling that yours might need to be more individually crafted.
EDIT: That is the second page but we will need to see the first as well - suitably doctored to obscure your personal details. My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).

Well that's handy, Beavis ruling will be handed down on 4th Nov, if Beavis wins UKPC will drop the their case.
Do not do contact UKPC until the Beavis result is known. All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. Edmund Burke Irish orator, philosopher, & politician (1729 - 1797).0 -
