last Friday, I looked up SCSs on google. found their 0800 number. Called them.
The minute I gave them my reference number they were able to find my name and other details such as the total osed, so are we still saying that its not them directly who are issuing the letters. Isn't this proof that they have my details on their database. I said "if I write back to you saying that I don't own your clients, UKPC any money, what is the next course of action". He replied he will forward it to their client. UKPC
Is this all not implying that there are a solicitors firm? if you look them up under LPC law under the law society, they exist and have 19 solicitors, the details are all on the laws society.0 -
There must be residents who actually own their properties. They will have a copy of the lease. Ask around and see if anyone can furnish you with a copy. It will be the same for the whole site, so would be the same as the one your LL has.
This will answer your questions.
Also, make sure to purchase lockable numberplate covers and use them when parked on the site. That way, they cannot read your reg. number.
Thanks patman for your comments.
Im sure there are but Ive ben here for almost 2 years . My place of work is 40 miles away. I hardly see the neighbours. Early starts and late finishes. Still, unfortunately theres some reluctance when it comes to asking for neighbours for such information. Im also leaving in 6 weeks to go live somewhere else. I would love to see the lease but it isn't easy getting a copy.

SCS are not acting as solicitors for parking events, and you've not received real LBAs.
A search of this forum for their name will yield lots of results.
Dear bod1467
I have looked at the forums about SCS.
Im jus concerned though because I have been able to call them on the 0800 number. they seem to be able to identify me when I give them my reference number and on The Law society website, Im able to find them under LPC law ltd, with details of their 19 solicitors/advisors. So why aren't they true solicitors? In addition if UKPC did use their letter headed paper, why should they be able to identify my name address and details of the claim when I gave them my reference number?
Im not being contradictory or anything but when I do such a search and yield these results, I think its then useful to bring it to this forum and ask . What do you think?
Please look up LP law on the Law society site? the law society wouldn't allows unreal ones on their register, would they?0 -

And why a solicitor would bother with such nonsense is unclear unless this was really sent out by UKPC themselves on SCS paperwork.
If you are genuinely worried and losing sleep, for this amount of money go and see a Solicitor. Most have a Free 30 minute consultation. This will take 5.
Looking forward to the next installment.
Dear IamEmanresu
Im really keen to ask you. which letter are you referring to as being pre-LBA. The SCS one of the UKPC?
Thanks0 -
You can scan the images using a scanner but if you are not very experienced this could end up being a long evening.
It may be quicker to type up the main body of the letters - omitting anything that might identify the case. Long winded I know but you may well find it easier.
I have a generic response to LBA's but have a feeling that yours might need to be more individually crafted.
EDIT: That is the second page but we will need to see the first as well - suitably doctored to obscure your personal details.
Dear HO87
I hope you been able to look at the letters. I hope you can see the SCS letter for £900. Once I got that, I left it a bit late. So I then called UKPC directly and got a UKPC recorded signed for letter with their headings.
Please Please read through and see if I should at least reply briefly, so its not percievd as if Im am ignoring them. Im not going to lose anything by that, or am I?
Thanks0 -
Ive uploaded the claim for £900. Havent uploaded the one for £2000+ but looks the same.0

Dear kind posters on my thread
I know small claims solicitors may or may not be real.
However, isn't it better to assume that their letter that I uploaded is a genuine LBA. It really doesn't matter to me whether its compliant at this minute with the Practice Direction on Pre-action conduct or not. Isnt it better to reply to them and point out that they are non compliant as per xxxLazyDaisy thread. If I ignore it , whether its compliant or not, cant I be accused of having completely ignoring it? Will I lose anything even if I reply briefly to it?
I am not saying Im sending it straight away. I will wait for Beavis v PE in the next 2 days as per the advice here.
However, I would like to start preparing the draft now and just keep hold of it. if after a few days, its deemed suitable to send it then at least I would have prepared it.
What's the consensus please0 -
Yes I would agree, start preparing a response now but wait for Beavis, you got it. Dead right.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The DVLA has responded.
With regards to the new car, UKPC had in fact applied to DVLA for every separate NTK tat they have mentioned in the small claims solicitors letters. they have also done it within the correct timeframe.
Im awaiting the reply from DVLA re the old car now
So far; UKPC 2 ( DVLA request legitimacy, PE victory over Beavis) Me 0

Been to see a solicitor yet? With over £3000 in play you appear to be in denial of the issue and will sit at a screen rather than sort out the issues.
There is no simple solution here. Get you lease or your rental agreement and go pay for professional advice if need be. See my signature. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
