Errrmmm, I thought you had a longer deadline than Weds morning? 6.11.15 is Friday.

  • Thanks I hope beavis Wins

If PE win, wouldn't the fact that I havent replied to the SCS letter before action by the deadline be held against me if the case goes to court.

Have the kind members who have viewed this thread looked at the letter? is it a genuine LBA?

The original deadline was 29/10/2015. I stupidly called UKPC directly, and as a result they sent me a letter saying they wont follow up their LBA for a further 7 days to allow me to contact them with my proposal. If beavis is out on Wednesday, Im limited in the amount of time I got to reply.

That's why Im just being prepared.

Is the SCS letter a genuine LBA?

doesn't xxxlazydaisy's sticky suggest that we shouldn't ignore these letters?

We don't need to look - Google 'Small Claims Solicitors' and search the forum for them. Seen it all before. Wait for Beavis, no point in rushing. Come back on Weds and we can help you make an informed decision about a reply, whichever way Beavis goes.

    YOU ARE NOT IGNORING IT!

    thanks

Yes by all means show us links with http changed to hxxp (newbies can't post working links, so post broken ones for us to change back).

I have found the thread by xxxLazy daisy on LBCCC very interesting and have thoroughly enjoyed it. As a mater of curiosity though, I cant find al the annexes that are referred to in the practice direction- pre action conduct.

I really enjoyed reading the whole thread and all the types of letters.

I note that the thread was stated in august 2013 and seen your post there on 22/08/2013 at 12.31 pm. yes I have read the whole post in details :).

My only question is how much in date is all that advice on that post.

Is there a chance for an update from yourself or xxxLazyDaisy. I think that would be great.

meanwhile Im sorry to bother you again, but is the letter from SCS ( trading name of LPC solicitors) not a genuine letter before action? I just want peace of mind please.

Thanks a lot for al your help so far :)

I'd suggest that we are not too hasty to come to that conclusion. There is at least one other here involving UKPC seemingly going after multiple ticket cases. Perhaps this is their way of generating income whilst DVLA access is cut off.

@OP there are few so-called LBA's that satisfactorily fulfil the requirements of current practice directions and so it is doubtful that yours do either. A firm response is what is required as soon as possible - ignoring is certainly not the answer to dealing with these.

If you are able to scan the letters in - making sure that you remove your personal details and any barcodes and references - indeed any detail that would identify your case, you can then host the scans on such sites as Tinypic or Photobucket. Post the links to those documents back here - making sure that you change the http portion of the URL to hxxp and paste that in as text - rather than as a link (you cannot post links as a newbie) and one of the regulars will convert that for you so we can see the content of the LBA's

It is common for letters emerging from such outfits to seemingly get held up in the post - the intention being to place greater pressure on you when you receive them, thinking you only have 7 days left of a 14 day window.

    Dear HO87

    Thanks for your post.

I ave seen the other thread you are referign to.

ive posted one of the SCS letters totalling £900
I can post the other one totalling £2700.

I have also seen your comments on the other thread you are referring to and taking the view that the OP may not be successful in the court.

Im really worried because I think I will be taken to court because of he sum involved.

The general advice here is to wait for Beavis and the SCSs are just another debt collection agent. Pleas have a look too and let us all discuss the various options.

    thank you
