  • Thanks Georgy girl. As it happened I phoned this morning, spooky eh! They were very helpful, I tried to hide my brummy accent, as he was so well spoken and called me madam! I am all sorted and we can go as planned, thanks again, though as I'm sure this will help others who haven't had their tickets.

  • we went today and we enjoyed it... It was hassle free and no waiting...our 2 littles ones are 3 1/2 so they loved the little fairies, the magic castle and were quite impressed when they finally saw Father Xmas.. sweet things werent' sure what to do... but they did manage to ask him for some toys..Had their photo taken, gave him a kiss and off we went with badge and sticker books...They loved it.... Prob better for younger ones but it's free and well thought of...We bought the cheaper photo which comes in a lovely frame.. So all in one a nice day out and put you in the mood for Xmas now..
I spoke to one of the lady out and she said that from now on it will be a booking in advance system...

  • We went on sunday and it was lovely. My 2 children took letters to father christmas. There is a postbox in with santa, and if you put your address on the letter Harrods will send a reply, for free again, so you can get even more out of the visit.

we ate in planet harrods, a bit pricy but not too bad, and portions are large, so we split 1 childrens meal between out 2 & 4 yr olds which kept costs down.

well worth the trek down to london

  • Hi. I have just tried to book, but the thread is not working:( Am I doing something wrong?
  • No Cidertab, the tickets have all gone, I'm afraid.
I went down to Harrods yesterday, it was lovely, but as there was no queue, the Santa mine saw didn't get the pre-information about them like others have had.
He was very young with an australian accent, but still jolly enough, mine were not convinced though! (11 and 9) suppose I was expecting a bit much!
Bought 4 6x4 piccies in lovely decorated frames for £12. Thought this was quite reasonable really, as pressies for the family.
Can I just ask anyone who booked but can't go to phone and let Harrods know as there were a lot of littlies turned away as it was full. If we cancel they release those spaces. I had double booked for Sun too and had emailed to cancel but it was still listed so I cancelled then.
Enjoyed our weekend, busy, mad and manic but good. The City Road Travelodge was lovely and new, with great brekkie but the room was above a nightclub and my hubbie never slept (shame. I did!) It was no. 341 so if you are going there I'd ask for a different room!

I took my 2 dd's age 4 and 5 yesterday, didn't tell them where we were going, only that it was somewhere they had never been before, my mum met us on the train further down the line and we made a good day out of it by going to Covent Garden before hand.
Got to Harrods an hour earlier than the time slot but were seen as there were no crowds. I loved the set up of the castle worth the tapestries telling the story of sleeping beauty.
When the door opened to let them in and they were introduced to Santa as Lady Adara and Lady Emily, the looks on their faces was wonderful!
We had quite a while in there and didn't feel rushed or pressured and Santa listened carefully to what the girls said and read their letters before getting the girls to post them.
The helper was very good letting us get the best picture and we left with a badge each (my mum and I as well as the girls!) and the Sleeping Beauty sticker book which my girls were delighted with.
I'll definitely take them next year.
Did try to go to Hamleys but it was too crowded so i'll try again next year when it's not so busy!
    Many thanks to the OP.
  • Hi

I have some tickets that my friend has given us to see Santa at the grotto, but they have her name on them! I'm just wondering if they ask for any ID or anything when getting into the grotto! I'd hate to make a trip all the way to London, only to be turned away with the kids because of this

    TIA

I wasn't asked for any, I should think you'll be fine.
