but I have got to say, very impressed with the santa we saw. He was given my nephews names and information about them as while we were in the queue to go in, one of the staff came out and started talking to them, asking them what they wanted for Christmas and what football team they supported etc, then she went back in to tell santa the info, and as soon as they walked in the room, he said their names and he said to them how much they have grown since he last saw them!! He started chatting to them like he knew them, we were in the room for about 10-15 minutes!! When we came out, my nephews asked how he knew about them, and me and my sister told them he was the one that they saw last year, but he has now moved to a different shop!! Result was 2 very happy boys convinced they saw the real santa - they never stopped talking about it all day!!

  • We all went up last Saturday (10th Nov) and had a lovely day. Taussauds (courtesy of Tesco clubcards, mc donalds in picadilly (kids choice) and an afternoon in the natural History Museum (our santa tickets gave us 20% off the ice station antartica exhibit) before a 5pm appointment with the man himself. The boys were 11 and I am sure did not believe but were up for it (3 of them) We queued for 30 min and its very hot in that bit. Castle walls with sleeping beauty pannels and little moving fairies on top of storybooks around the top. I have to say I expected something special it being Harrods and all, but the conversations around us kept us smiling (sloanes with their under 1yr olds complaining about poopsies nap being interupted by the great man, and questions from the nationality quiz immigrants have to take (I didnt know the answer to one!) and I didnt feel half so bad with my 3 strapping pre pubescents when I saw the under 1's and the 18+ going in! The helpers were friendly and chatty and unfazed by all the questions, he was an impressive santa, took his time, chatted with the boys and their mums. We were not rushed, did get the picture (after all probably last time I will get DS to pose with Santa) and gave them all books to pass on to princesses and a badge for themselves. It comes out into Toy section and they had a lovely hour in there before we made our way back to Waterloo and a train picnic. A great day all round that cost us approx £20 each. Boy did our feet hurt the next day though. So thanks to the poster of this opportunity. It was my birthday as well so made it a really special memory
I think I am going slightly mad.....

Hi, just been on the website and it says that they have added more weekend tickets due to demand. Personally I would bypass the flawed online booking system and call the booking line direct on O2078938877, staff very helpful to assist in getting tickets for suitable times and days.Good Luck

We took our 2YO on Tuesday & I have to say we had a fab day! We were booked in for the 11.30 slot and we arrived & were seen within 5 minutes, the helper who took our names at the entrance skiped around to meet us at the grotto entrance whilst we walked through the castle, she was very chatty & good with our son, then she introduced us to Father Christmas when our turn came (just a few minutes wait). There must be between 8-12 FC's seeing children in private rooms, all carefully timed so that no-one sees another FC as they are being led to their own room, we had a good 10 min+ chat with FC whilst he put our little boy at his ease and then had our photo taken, the 1st one was OK but not brilliant but the photographer was happy to take more until we got a good shot. The book is a Usborn sticker-story book & inside the front cover is personalised from FC at Harrods, not great but OK for a freebie, plus we all got badges to wear. The photos range in price from £9.95 - £30 for various different sizes/numbers and come in a paper Harrods frame.

We had lunch in the restaurent next to the grotto which cost £30 for the 3 of us but the food was really good & pleanty of it. We had a good wander around the toy department & christmas floor & food hall & were allowed to take photos everywhere but in the grotto itself, we got some lovely ones of Spud with some Xmas displays. In all, including train tickets, we spent £100 for the day and we think it was worth it. We could have spent less but we enjoyed the occasion & had budgeted for it.

Perhaps best suited to younger children and the present is a bit on the flimsy side (but then it is a freebie), but the experience itself was great & we will be going back next year!

    HTH;)

I still havent received my tickets. As the weekend is all booked Im still going or Ill have lost over £80. Gutted that people aren't over impressed. I don't really know what to do as there is no way of getting hold of my confirmation email as everything was lost when my computer system crashed.
keeping my fingers crossed that we still may get the tickets. We go on 23rd November!

I am also booked for the 23 November for a 4.30 slot and my tickets have'nt arrived either, so I phoned them this afternoon, where we are travelling up from the Isle of Wight, I did'nt want a wasted journey through them being double booked or anything and I spoke to a nice man in the customer services department who said that they have stopped sending tickets out now, due to people selling them on Ebay and to turn up on the day with my confirmation e-mail and maybe some form of ID.

I would phone up the store and explain what happened I expect they will probably have some proof of your e-mail address from when they sent the confirmation.

    The number I called is 020 7730 1234

    Good Luck !
