  • SO.......fell over one of the rabbits last night and then they nearly electrocuted themselves!

I had a complete fit 1. because I really hurt my ankle (why the f isn't it getting better??) and 2. The boy rabbit would have died if I had been a second too late.

I decided last night to re - home them. I was so mad and in such pain. and it will be so hard next week at work.

It is the logical thing to do.

This morning I feel bad and know it will be hard to find a decent rescue. I would hate to give them up to a crappy life in a hutch.

Instead I bought a small hoover and decided to keep them for one month and then rethink. It is mainly the ankle - I can't kneel down to clean them out and the half standing kneeling thing is causing such backache and also means as they run around I am unbalanced and tense - sounds so stupid but they need cleaning out each day and it is such a pain at the moment or has been. I took the boot off my ankle about 2 /3 days ago and it is still quite sore. I am dreading work. Really. I think that is partly because of the ankle I haven't finished the conservatory and it was going to be my place of work this term. Plus of course any teacher reading this will understand that missing work is a scandal and missing 3 weeks of work is a career ending nightmare. Well it isn't but it will be an issue. I can handle it, I just don't want to!

Any how haircut at 2.........got to drive for the first time in about 7 weeks?

    wish me luck XXX

  • Buffy, I know you feel under pressure to go back to work, but really, should you be when your ankle isn't fixed yet? It worries me you are still in so much pain with it! I can see you can't stop cleaning out the rabbits etc, but you must also sit with your foot up and rest it as much as you can. I tore all the ligaments in my ankle last summer and it took 12 weeks to heal properly - and every evening I had to sit with up to reduce the swelling (it would swell up during the day).

Please look after yourself - it won't get better if every evening you are having to balance awkwardly on it. And Happy New Year.

have the docs said you can drive? if not then you are not insured - sorry!
    Must use my stash up!
  • Good point made by Knit Witch. If you are still in so much pain then your foot is definitely not better! Sorry for stating the obvious but work will just have to manage without you. It will be a lot worse if you were to damage it long term. Not wanting to scare you but you could cause all sorts of long term damage.

Had a bit of a chuckle about the incontinence blanket. Come on Buff, fess up you just can't be faffed to get out of bed to go to the loo can you :D

I can totally understand how the rabbits are really causing you hassle at the moment, is there a way they can have their movements limited which isn't as bad a a hutch?

    Much love and (Hugs).

Sick note took me up till Christmas eve so am not currently signed off - just on normal holiday, my insurance is fine. thanks tho Knit Witch :)

It was ok walking to the hairdressers. bit painful but to be honest having walked and driven on it broken for 3 weeks am fairly sure it is !!!!ed anyway which is a problem. But I will take care of it - and if it is bad am fairly sure the school would send me home as they are a bit paranoid about such things. Foot is up in the air as I type.

TIAL I will get you for that clip! :) Tart. :P

Tonight is not brilliant as for reasons known only to herself Mum stayed up till 2 this morning. and then wouldn't nap this afternoon - despite falling asleep twice during a film we watched. She is shattered which equals very grumpy snappy and not unlike me when I am tired. but then - famously I nap. Anyhow she slightly happier now as Graham Norton will be on in a bit.

I wish my readers and dear friends a happy new year, I really hope 2016 is a good one

    Love Buffy XX

  • Good - if it is up in the air for now I shall stop nagging (I typed magging first, which is more appropriate for my user name). But do look after it. Enjoy your evening. xx
