2 rentals per month.
Why do they give everyone a different price?
Because it's a legacy package, Amazon kept a whole bunch of them when they folded LoveFilm into Amazon video.
Don't forget over the years LoveFilm were providing the actual DVD rental service behind the scenes to various other companies including Tesco DVD Rental, WH Smith and CD-WOW before these all either closed, rebranded, transferred to or were "taken over" by LoveFilm and many of these also kept their legacy pricing and disk allowances as well with the move.
Amazon DVD Rental used to be standalone, then they bought LoveFilm and merged their service with that, again keeping a raft of legacy prices and allowances in the process that were legacy first time round.0 -
I wouldn't mind paying the increase if I received a value-for-money service, which once upon a time I did. Now, all too often they don't dispatch the new DVDs until the next working day after receipt of the previous ones, meaning turnaround is slower. Somehow my turn never seems to come for a great many of the DVDs on my list even when I rate them as High Priority, suggesting they don't have anything like enough copies to meet the demand.
I've now cancelled my membership as the service no longer represents good value for money.0
