My post was to save on battery power which is exactly what it does (WAY beyond whatever little the AV uses, which people do not have to if they do not want to)

And no. I would have to be dumb as a doorpost to have someone write a brand new piece of malware and I would be the first to test it.

Approx 8 hours ago I opened facebook and closed it again (But didnt kill it)
I have 82% left after being on 12 hours and 9 minutes
Android OS 48%
Screen 20%
Device Idle 10%
Cell Standby 9%
Phone 4%
Voice Calls 3%
Task Manager 3%
Android System 2%
Facebook 2%
Messaging 2%
(AV still not showing)

So due to not killing facebook, its somehow crept into the battery stats (Albeit, not by much)
Anyone know why 'task manager' would be at 3%?

Guys we are now getting to almost civilised conversations like the forum was a few years ago, I have seen very good advice from both of you and bickering does not become either of you now let's hopefully get back to where we where:eek:
Andy I could of course mention the fact that you may have not meant to pray to your gods rather than be prey to the predators out there (pedant alert), I remember many times that rik has helped many a novice through PC problems including talking them through having to use tools such as Combofix, there are many of us that can remember when this forum had many "volunteers" that genuinely wanted to help with tech problems, and I am sure that many may return if people stop join in !!!!ing competions, Everyone gives good(in their opinion) advice in good faith and it is easier to point out the error of their ways without SHOUTING. Sorry for the sermon but over the last 4-5 years the site has lost many good contributors,that all had something to give.
This is just my opinion of course

thank you for your post (Of which I agree to everything)
I would suggest when people post help, others can discuss the pros and cons whilst being civil. A simple 'I know better than you' is not the way forward to my mind.

This entire thread has been an unmitigated disaster. Ive had flu, thought I would help a few people whilst I wasn't feeling too great and end up (Once again) being verbally abused on here. I understand the sentiments completely, but no can can state I haven't posted a LOT of evidence to back me up with various things (Even going so far as to actually install malware!!)

I apologise for how I went sideways in the conversation, but I know when I am at least half right I will say as such. I have actually found evidence to suggest there are two AV programs that do scan in real time (Not AVAST, and I cant prove anything as yet. It might even be BS, who knows)
