Doric is the local dialect for the North East of Scotland, quite different from the Scots used elsewhere. A quine is just a word for lassie, the male equivalent being a loon or loonie. Your translation was almost spot on, except for 'An yer ah' is 'And you are all' and 'anna noo' is 'as well, now'. Well done.

AC how was the viewing from yesterday? Are any of them returning to see your flat again. Schools are back up here next week and that usually starts a few house moves. Are you near a hospital or a good school or a uni as that might tempt a few. Buy to lets are most of the sales near us.
Near my friend in Aberdeen almost the whole street are doctors for the hospital as they have to stay whithin a certain distance to get there quick in an emergency. Might be worth putting an advert in the notices in the unis etc if you are are near.
How long does it take to walk to a bus stop or tube station should be in the schedule.

    Hi grunnie
I'll probably get a report tomorrow . A lady who viewed it last sat , apparently likes the garden and wants to bring her friend along for a second viewing on tues. Hope that happens .

The local girls school is around the corner , and one of the best in the country also.
Bus stops are very near , and train stations not far either .

I take yesterday's viewing as a bonus ,in this quiet period .

The first week in September , is when the kids go back .

I moved a few things around over the last few days , which make the place look even bigger and smelling even better.
The garden is more tidy also .
I'll just keep hoping , and plugging away .

Forgot to mention: one of my neighbours has been doing his garden up , with help from a gardener. He has this morning , started to cut down his overgrown plant which was blckingbyhe light out of my bedroom window .
Maybe he is selling soon ...

AC, I think grunnie is on to something here. Your descriptions are so vague! "Just around the corner", "not too far at all" should read something like "two minutes' walk to the nearest bus stop", "(Number) minutes' walk to the nearest tube station, train station, etc." I have a feeling LL would second this, were she not exiled in the Land of Chocolate and Straight Cucumbers :rotfl:

    Where is MuffinTops?
  • Smodlet, you're taking things too literally :)
I just explained it briefly to grunnie .
I'm quite happy with the listing ( apart from the photos we've discussed ).

Basically , I'm in a good location , very close to al amenities / bus stops / schools / stations etc.
When I spoke to the estate agent , he assured me be left no stone unturned regarding all this ( also the other ones who were also conducting
    viewings ).
    I'll get there :)
The land of chocolate sounds good . Cucumbers ? Not so good .( ugh)

AC, fingers crossed that you will hear something positive tomorrow.
Maybe your neighbour letting in more light will make the bedroom seem more appealing - you never know what tiny thing will make a big difference to someone.
  • Well , just got a call from chase Buchanan .
Quick viewing today .. Short notice .
Saturday viewing went well. Second viewing Thursday . The husband is a builder . Mr. Estate agent is very bouncy , happy and confident .

    He's a nice guy for an e a . :)

Ooh, trying to not get too excited, but assume that if he is a builder then your external work will not phase him. And he is probably much more able to see the potential beyond the wee internal things that need done.
And finally the sun is shining on Skye today :-)
