Poole, Christchurch and Bournemouth are great places to live. I think there's quite a bit of work. All hospitals have large post rooms/stores etc and there is Poole, Bournemouth and Christchurch hospitals, Bournemouth airport etc so if you don't mind too much where you work you will find work easily.

We are all cheering you on AC. You have had loads of viewings and no nibbles yet. Yes your flat needs modernising and the new owners can do that but get the place clean. Did I say clean and then clean again- the bathroom and loo and floor if it is vinyl and the taps the mirrors - I am good at nagging. Are you taking every item with you when you move if not start sorting now and packing. Every time you leave take something for the bin or charity shop and everytime you shop bring home a box to pack stuff in. Good luck:D

Fingers crossed AC. A flurry of viewings after the price drop does sound like maybe that was what was needed. I do hope so.
When I sold my flat I was just very lucky that the couple were desperate to ove because she was pregnant, that they had a limited budget, and that he was the type who wasn't afraid of a bit of DIY. As has already been said, every property has its buyer out there somewhere.
    Keep us posted.

PS Our neighbour has had visitors all week and the cat has been spending a lot more time in our garden. He didn't even mind that we had visitors on Monday night. And he has been very 'chatty' these last few days too. My sister says that cats choose people, and it seems like maybe he is choosing us :-s

Lets all hope that AC finds an unencumbered, and proceedable buyer, out of this clutch of viewings.
  • Thanks very much everybody ;)
Thank you lady 1964, and on my way also . Many pages on here ;)
    4 viewings today .
It does seem that , the price reduction was definitely needed.

The man getting the most viewings for me lately , has only recently joined . He does mention the loft / location etc and when I asked him everything he seems enthusiastic and on the case .

Very tired , and jaded at the moment . I will probably go into central London and do some shopping / grab a coffee or something later on while the viewings are going on .
The first is 12.45 , and the other 3 are from 2-3 o'clock approx .

    Will keep you posted

    Cheers ;)

    A perfect summers day..:D.
  • So, it comes to midday . I'm just coming out of a cold bath.
Just getting ready to dress. Bell rings . Viewers . Unexpected .
Asked them for 5 mins . Nice people . ;)

Went straight onto bus .. Full of bawling brats .
Getting hot . Cafe Nero gave me cream in my drink by mistake .
No big deal . I'm cool and mellow in cafe Nero .

    Slightly bizarre day

I would find going out for the day out whilst agents showed my property an utterly surreal experience........but then I'm a control freak. :rotfl:

Saturday is not a good day for trawling round shops, travelling by bus at the best of times and definitely not in this heat. I avoid shops and public transport like plague at weekends. That's the beauty of being retired. I can pick and choose my times.

Enjoy your cafe Nero and then find a nice park to while away the afternoon. A Shady tree, a book, an ice cream, take your socks and shoes off and just chill and watch the world go by. Then .........maybe when you get back this evening your flat might have been sold.

    Wouldn't that be fab.

Have come indoors now Into to my cool sitting room.

Only mad dogs and Englishmen go out into the noon day sun.........
  • Thanks LL;)

Annoyed today . I wanted to book next Monday and Tuesday as holiday . My colleague says he has gas man those days .
He hasn't booked them as holiday , so I'm incensed.

Friday's viewing was a rejection , surprise surprise .. Too much work .

    Not a good Monday

Thanks to all for your support

Another rejection : liked the space, but prefers a ground floor flat
