No pot pourri - too 80's. Scented candles. Feeling frustrated as I said exactly what you are being and doing days ago. I talked about look at your competitors, if you remember. They are not using made to measure, but are using the likes of Dunelm mill. Get some throws and coordinating cushions.0

I have scented candles . Mixed opinions on those by many .
Got a couple of those air wick spray thingys a few weeks back , on a half price deal at waitrose . I tried them , they were good . Refills expensive .
Good job I had replacement batteries also.
Just chucked some washing powder onto carpets .
Smell much better
My main bedroom is much better. I put my tv and digital alarm clock onto speaker stands .put glass cabinet into spare room temporarily .
The living room and bedroom look huge now ( for a flat ). Everybody loved the space already .
Just thinking where one of the sofas should go .
Was. Thinking about by the window , but it may look odd .
Did a bit more trimming of the grass yesterday . Will do more everyday .
At the weekend ,I will tackle the area where the bark chippings will go .
Then purchase them probablly next week . The animals have had some wild parties in th garden . Must get some new border..0 -
Were the wild animals drinking cocktails, doing Karoake and gorging on kebabs...:rotfl:
Hopefully no illegal substances - you don't want them to ruin the neighbourhood.;)
Last evening the cat was with us in the lounge, the kitchen door was ajar - went in later it looked like "Sooty" the stray I mentioned had helped himself to "Mr M's" food. He's getting bolder. Will we have a new resident when I get back from Belguim.
See you have been busy making as few changes. Good luck - any more viewings booked.?
Today is the second anniversary of my husband's death. I'm ok. Will just be quiet today, tonight we will all gather together for a family meal and raise a glass in his memory.0 -
I think the animals are very young .. They seem to wreck everything
Looks like you've adopted another .
Hope today goes as well as it can for you LL. Tomorrow should be better .
No more viewers booked . Not expecting anymore , so anything that happens for the remainder of the year will be a bonus . Will give me time to get things sorted . I have a rusty radiator in the bathroom where the paint is peeling off. I will remove the rest on Saturday and paint at the weekend .0 -
Bless your heart, LL, I did not realise it was so recent. He must have been an absolutely wonderful chap to make you as happy as he did. I hope today goes all right for you and your family.
Have a great time in Belgium, won't you? And please come back safely, you are needed here!Plus, you could post pics of posh chocolates and make us all jealous, huh?
Keep going, AC. Did you learn anything from those properties LL mentioned? I went through them all, too. Some looked sumptuous for those who like flats. Some looked as if the communl outside space would never be used because as soon as anyone tried to, the rest of the residents would complain. Just an impression I got. At least your garden is private so come on, make the most of it.0 -
Yes smodlet , just checked the competition
What you say there , seems true .
The internal stuff , is very good . A lot better than mine .
The things I have also noticed( easy for me to say , because I live here)
is that some of those places seem to have less freedom than a maissonnette . The flats are in blocks , and I imagine noise will be heard (walking in your flat with heels etc).
Also , the service charges will probably be more than mine , as some places are more communal so to speak . I pay £18 ground rent and £375 to the freeholders once a year .
Also , some of those places are on the main road. Mine is a cul- de -sac a 2 min walk from the local girls grammar school etc.
The radiator job is now put off till next week , as another viewing is happening on Saturday .
If I can't get dried flowers before Friday , I'll have to nab some on the way home , Friday evening . As LL said , lavender is the way to go .
Gonna rearrange my bed this evening , as it may look better now that I've removed clutter .

Update......I might not be back on Monday after all. Eurostar will be on strike.
I may have to extend my trip.
SHocker .:rotfl:
My boys wanted to take me out to dinner and to see "Finding DOry". Aren't they fab, such a nice thought to cheer me up. I have said lets do it next week because of the early start tomorrow,
I am lucky to have such great kids.0 -
Sounds like there are lot of advantages to your flat but your EA is not plugging them.
In fact I thought their write up was really poor. They weren't exactly singing its praises.
So........with a poor write up and dreadful photos you still had an above average number of viewings. WHats the headcount now.......it must be pushing 25 to 30.
And yet no offers.........well you had one from the investor of course, which, with hindsight, actually looks as if it was about right.
Ah hindsight is a wonderful thing. :rotfl:
Given the number of viewings I would have expected at least one more offer, possible two. So what's holding them back.
You have dropped the asking price by £40k - again that should have been enough - near enough 10 per cent.
I accepted 7 per cent less on my UK house but that was October 2012 when the housing market was in the doldrums (at least where I live, I think LOndon was doing ok at that time).
It had to be said though that I had spent £2k and a lot of hard graft bringing it up to standard. It was in turn key condition and knocked the spots off the competition. It was snapped up in three weeks by the third viewer. Given the market conditions that was a good performance. Even the EA was gobsmacked.
I usually sell my properties within a few days. Even the Spanish one went in a month and that's was when the market had completely collapsed. The fastest was one that didn't even go on the market. I mentioned I was thinking of selling and someone said "I'll buy it" - job done.:D
So AC your viewers know and like the location, they aren't out off by the EAs poor marketing, they don't seem unduly fazed by the asking price (at least not initially) so unless there is something we don't know about.........ie overlooking something nasty like a railway line, graveyard, electricity pylons, gas dome or similar, or that it's next to a nightclub, factory or chip shop then it just has to be the inside.
Something is clearly turning them off in droves.........
Seriously if you want to send me some "candid" photos - ooh er missus - OF YOUR FLAT. :rotfl: then just pm them me and I'll run my beady eye of over them.
Had some great news today........ A nice little windfall is on its way to me.
I was thinking I might need to get a small mortgage - now I don't have to.
Wahaaay..............:j:j0 -
Thanks LL
That's really good of you
Will p m you if that's ok
Trains cancelled , so I'm going home a different way ;(
