Hey guys,
How are you doing, LL? That sounded like a nasty prang.
AC, my mother was on prednisilone back in the 90s for her arthritis... she told me it had been withdrawn due to its side effects (it was the only thing that enabled to move at all normally) so, I guess, someone must have decided to reinstate it, unless it was withdrawn for only her condition.
You guys hang in there.0 -
Yes NICE often change the rules on drugs. It happened with one my husband's prescriptions.
AC - about the decluttering. Have you read any of the minimalism or simple living blogs. The zen habits of minimalism is fab.
Over the last few years I have downsized and decluttered and am moving ever closer to my minimalist ideals. I love it and it has been a game changer for me, releasing time, money and energy.
I was forever losing things, constantly stressed, always rushing around. I wasted so much of my life cleaning, tidying and taking care off "stuff". Not now. I live in a haven of peace and tranquility, I know where everything is, I don't panic, or fret or get anxious. I used to get panic attacks. No more. I am relaxed and serene.
I have more time and oddly enough more money.
Decluttering is good for the soul, the blood pressure and the bank balance.
Get rid of the clutter, it will transform your life.
Smodlet.....yes turns out it was a nasty prang. My injuries were worse than I thought. I'm getting there though. Had my first Physio yesterday. It was pure torture so I suppose it must be doing me good......lol.0 -
Poor LL! My thoughts are with you.

Just checking to see how you doing AC and sorry your flat not sold yet. Not been on here for a while but you sound a bit more upbeat.
I took a high dose of prednisalone when I had Bells Palsy last year. Evil drug but it did work thankfully. Hopefully when you move and leave that job the removal of the stress will help your health condition. Are you sure you are not entitled to any benefits now? Is mg a condition which renders you disabled considering the tiredness you get?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Thank you candygirl/ enthusiastic / smodlet /LL
Yes mg, is classified as you say enthusiastic . I don't know if/ what I may be entitled to , but as mentioned I think most of symptoms will be gone when I eventually move .
I gave ( by instruction), all letters regarding my hsp appts/ medication/ doctors notes and I think that the company only think my eye is affected .
TBH , the job is very quiet , except for the 'builders ' hogging the lifts preventing us from doing the basic handling of deliveries etc .
The job is dying , and the building is oppressive and unhealthy . Something I've always said from day one .
This time last year I was suspended from work , very ill , and hardky able to do anything . Now , things have improved a lot .
LL , I have a great book ( which I cannot remember ) about making the most of small spaces . Could spend a fortune
I initially thought about downsizing to a studio , but I'm so fed up of London , so I won't be doing that . You tube have lots of ideas bout that kind of thing also .
Somebody mentioned the parachute book above . I actually bought that on Amazon 9 years ago, with the intention of maybe turning around my life. It was ok . I gave it to somebody .a little too americanised for me .

:T:T:T:T that's great to read :T:T:T:T
Terrible reading about your symptoms. I know a fair few people with auto immune diseases - including a lovely guy in his 30's who was about yo join the police force and now uses a mobility scooter - something you never used to hear about. It may be the health service is getting better at diagnosing, but I've just got this fear it's environmental issues and/or stress that's causing it. Getting out of London will help all round.
Another supporter of decluttering leading to a happier and calmer life. I'm fairly tidy anyway but when things are out of their 'homes' and lying about I feel hemmed in and anxious. Give it a go when you get a chance. Have you any holidays booked off work?A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Thanks gally
I think that stress is a major worry for a lot more of the population now . Sometimes , when I think of some illnesses , I do wonder if Chernobyl had anything to do with them .
No holidays planned . I used to go to Ireland to see my mum every September , and springtime but she died last October . Not a surprise .
I was thinking of going on mini train journeys around Europe next year , but this new wave of stuff happening in Europe put a stop to that idea . Will probably do lots in uk next year
In the subject of decluttering: when you get your first home computer , you get the desk , the computer, the scanner , the speakers , the audio interface .
When i move , it will be a laptop and small Bluetooth type speaker .
That's just one part of decluttering . Loads more ideas in my head .
I have a large Pilates machine. Not used since I put home up for sale.
I may offload it soon.

Well having worked in the construction industry and having a keen interest in complimentary medicine I am a great believer in the concept of "sick building syndrome" and how our environment and the products we use every day can damage our health and well being.
At the risk of sounding alarmist I think that as a species we are slowly poisoning ourselves.
. Again as a species, we are squandering the earths resources and polluting our own habitat.
Don't get me started...it's something of a hobby horse of mine. :rotfl:
Add money worries and work related stress Into the mix and you have a pretty toxic cocktail with devasting effects on both physical and mental health.
I think we are only seeing the tip of the iceberg with neuroligical and immune related illnesses. There's worse to come.
I'm am convinced my husband's condition was triggered by environmental factors at his workplace. I asked his neurologist and he just shrugged and said probably but there has not been enough research.
Oh dear I don't mean to be so gloomy.
AC I do genuinely think that moving out of London and downsizing is absolutely the right thing for you. I'm sure you will reap the rewards, financially, physically and emotionally.
It will be a rebirth.:rotfl:0 -
Yeah , couldn't agree more .;)
Even the buses have been redesigned ..badly . Putting profit before people . Trouble is , a lot of people don realise it .
Most don't know how to open a window .
All this wll be gone soon0
