Bettyboo, thank you again, you are an angel :A:A:A:A:A.
LL, you take it easy, now! Smodlet, Bettyboo et al have spoken! You do not have to be always on the go. Thinking of you.
Best of luck to you all, thanks again, TT, for your support as well, it does make a hell of a difference.
AC, keep the faith, if the viewings have not dried up yet, there is a great deal of interest. This is quite a long time since you put it on the market. We found that either we got offers or the prospects stopped coming, by now. If you just followed LL's and GG's advice, I reckon you'd sell in a month or two. Just putting my oar in, now I have the energy to lift it again. Laters.
P.S. Two nights sleep in a row! Cue rows any time, nowThe sense of humour did a little blip above the flatline. Not dead yet!

You have everything sorted LL . I was gonna mention th physio , but you see in control . Just relax, and all is well;)
Estate agents : a few can see my property for sale, and as mentioned , 2 want me to go with them . A new estate agent with chase uchanan ,has been getting me viewings.
I'm gonna stick with them, as despite the alarm bells rnging over last couple of weeks , I'm still getting viewings.
Too much hassle to be tied up with semi pro Cowboys .
Haven't slept much over last few days . When Iget home , I'll fall asleep in the bath0 -
LL - so glad you're OK. Hope Dad not too shook up.
Hydrotherapy and sunbathing sounds good.
Crazy, useless drivers around. A fortnight ago a friend was sitting in her parked car when it was clipped by an idiot who then smashed through the plate glass window of a cafe, reversed out, shot across the road into another window ....! Despite being showered by glass, and inches from being squashed, miraculously no one in the cafe was much hurt.
I gave up driving and have been car-free for 4 years now. Am semi- retired at 57 and have managed my little work on public transport during that time. Now winding down even more. What I save through not running a car has brought annual expenditure down a LOT, even with the need for a weekly evening taxi and other occasional ones. It helps that I love researching bus and train times, and always rather hankered not to run a car for environmental reasons, but working in such a rural area made that impossible. I'd say definitely try the car-free experiment! I use traveline.com to check out transport for new needs/visits/hols etc. I know friends who've found errors and omissions in it, but it's always worked fine for me planning journeys all over the place. I do always carry a taxi number for where I'm going in case of problems, but have never yet had such an emergency! Good luck with it!0 -
So, yesterday was an awful day. As I say, hardly any sleep the rest of the week previous .
Did I mention I work n a cupboard ?
So ,there was a problem with the 'aircon '. Con, being the word as it doesn't exist . This meant that the maintenance people had to go in the dry riser cupboard behind me several times yesterday .
Problems on the trans getting home . About half an hour longer , but it seemed way longer .
When I got home, I went to bed. Fell asleep for about 90 mins.
Much better .dexter and Foxtons phoned. The phone was in the other room. Went into the bath.
Now having a coffee break .
Hoping for an offer soon. Today is when the 'favourite ' has a 2 nd viewing.
We shall see;)..0 -
Feedback from Tuesday : liked property. Husband out of country till Sunday . Not sure if they would offer , or how much .
Will have final thoughts on Monday0 -
Wow! It's quiet on here again.
Haven't heard any feedback from yesterday's viewing.
I assume it's a no.
Previously ,' by far the best she's seen. Just what she is looking for .
Her property is not under offer , so she cannot make an offer etc'
No more viewings lined up either .
So, we'll see0 -
I have been reading this thread from the beginning and hope you get a sale soon and for the 400 you would like. I have bought, sold and house doctored a good few houses over the last few decades and every home has a buyer it is just a matter of matching a home with the new owner at the right time. Do you have good photos as these make such a difference and photos of the outside too. I believe you don't need to do up a house for it to sell but it does need to be really really clean and no clutter out for show. loose the coats over chairs doors etc. Razors and toothbrushes etc hidden( put them in a cupboard. Move the dishdrainer and clean the sink. Have nothing in front of a window and open the curtains as wide as they go. Good luck.
ps. I retired at 51 :T0 -
Thanks grunnie
Well done on retiring earlyThanks for reading my thread .
It's getting long now0 -
Hey all,
Sorry I've just caught up on the last 10 days of thread - summer holidays are a time when I'm hardly online and the weather has been too gorgeous to be glued to my laptop.
LL - sorry to hear about the car but main thing is your dad and you are OK (albeit sore/stiff).
AC - fingers crossed for offer
I'm still in the same position - sold in May, no where to buy at all. NO new houses have come up in the town at all. I'm due to complete on 1 September so will wait until last minute of exchange to pull out. I'm so annoyed as he's the perfect buyer, great price but nothing for sale grrr....0 -
Anna, so sorry to hear that thing aren't going well for you. I know that you have previously discussed other options (renting etc), but it seems a shame to pass up on a good buyer, especially with all the apparent uncertainly just now. Fingers crossed.
AC - as grunnie says, the buyer is out there, they just have to find you. I spent £2k on marketing my flat and sold it to a couple who were renting a flat in the next block. If only we still had proper communities.....
I like the fact that everyone is out enjoying the sunshine - it has been raining almost constantly for over a week now, grey and cold and feels like November. But I'm still living my dream :-)0
