Hi AC, all.
Crossed post with LL! See, it's telepathic between us, now. I think of her, and she appears, like the genieus she is. (Grin)
LL will obviously be the best person to advise you, AC, but I do know photos can make the difference as to whether someone comes to view your property, or not. When our house finally sold, it was the garden pics that did it. EA changed them around so the first pic was one of the garden ones, so only buyers who wanted a big garden would come to see it. The last thing you want to hear, in that scenario, is "well, I love the house but that garden is too much for me to manage". Why did you waste my time, then, you !!!!er?!? I do understand your frustration with people who cannot read a map.
Maybe, by the time the little darlings go back to school and the market (traditionally) picks up again, the whole Brexit brouhaha will have calmed down as well. Keep the faith, brother!0 -
Gosh, LL, maybe the charges are low because the flipping tree's roots are about to b*gger up the flat's foundations, you think? Even if you did get it in writing that the tree had to be dealt with, how would you ever enforce it? Imho, you have done the right thing.
Trees are good, a safe distance away from brickwork, really good. We have some rather too close for comfort but we know there is no preservation order on 'em, being self set as they are so, should there be a problem, we will just tell the council to chop 'em down, since they are on council land. They do afford privacy from the footpath, so that's good.0 -
I love trees and it seems set back far enough from the foundations it's just its massive.......the flat was a penthouse on the third floor - OMG it was a stunner - and the tree was even higher - so you can imagine how big it was.
Talk about mighty oaks........:rotfl:
I really loved the flat, the design and layout were just perfect. The lounge had a cathedral ceiling and one of those double height patio door/window above arrangements that you see on all those posh houses on Grand Designs.
I was mentally choosing colours, placing furniture, moving doors and redesigning the kitchen as I walked round but I'm afraid practicality and common sense have to win the day.
Just too many negatives......
Im trying not to get disheartened but like Anna I just can't find anything. Even I'm getting fed up looking at properties.
I've got two flats and a cottage lined up for next week, and even just looking on RM I can spot all the negatives before I even get there.
I don't mind negatives on my own property because usually there are not insurmountable, generally it's something I can work round. However, when it's something to do with next door then, as you say, it's out of your hands.0 -
Oh, wow. Looking out at a tree that was higher than my penthouse, fire escape, maybe? What do you mean, you're too old for Tarzan? He must be about 130 by now. Aaaaaaaaaaa-a-ah-a-ah-a-ah-a-ah. :rotfl:0

Have you seen the new Tarzan film.....
I'm hoping to see Ab Fab next week.0 -
No-o-o-o. Loincloths don't really do it for me, somehow. I like a little more left to the imagination. Skin tight leather pants, now, on Tyr Anasazi, they are my idea of art, LL.
Hope you have an absolutely fabulous time at the movies.0 -
Major disappointment this morning:
My 'neighbour' , has cut down plant outside my front door.
I know why .on Saturday , I trimmed the growing plants in my garden ( including height ). She obviously thinks that I have cut her plants down which I have not.
2 yeas ago ,I politely asked if she could sort her gardens out .
They are always majorly overgrown at the best of times.
She snapped at me .a few months later I asked the property management company to help. They sent everyone in the close a letter. They keep their gardens tidy .
So, I obviously cannot say anything to her. Just need to get out.
The estate agents may need to take another picture of the outside.
Also , I may need to get a replacement plant . If I do , she may rip that out. She is Jeremy Kyle material , that's for sure.
I had squirrels in my loft bcause of her in the past.
What do I tell the estate agent(s)?
Please advise0 -

In the meantime, if you are going with a new agent then think about how to present your flat again. Remember the advice you've been given in the past - hide the power reel in the living room. Make sure the bin is empty (or out of site) when pictures taken. The hob looks a bit grubby in the pics - do the knobs need scrubbed etc? Declutter the second bedroom - I think you said you have a loft? Box up as much of the stuff as you can and put it up there. Make the room look spacious rather than cluttered - could you make it more of a music room? Concentrate on what is within your control rather than what isn't. Easier said than done I know.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Thanks Gally
The new estate agent will do the new photos .
I will declutter spare room at the weekend .
I may put the computer desk in the living room( it was there before).
Will need help though.
May ask estate agent to give me a hand0 -
I'll have to tell the estate agents , that my 'eccentric ' neighbour cut my plant by mistake
Update : Dexters phoned. Told them I'll jump ship in 4 weeks time.
Told them about what happened.
Bizarrely enough, in Friday he took one of my letters by mistake , and dropped it back this morning .
I just said my eccentric neighbour cut my plant by mistake .
Need to get out. Humid again!!
These women behind the counter at cafe Nero are always cold.
The have aircon and don't use it .
May go elsewhere !0
