If you could see my very small 1930s galley kitchen you would laugh at this comment, but the phrase 'room for small fridge' would bother me.

In the second flat they must assume you will install a tall narrow fridge/freezer.

My thoughts too are with LL today.

Yes, different kitchen layouts. TBH in ACs position I would use the small fridge space for a condensing tumble dryer and place a fridge freezer in the second/spare bedroom. Both flats have slight differences and strengths/disadvantages depending on point of view.

My preference would be the top floor if all other things are equal, simply for not having people walking around above me.

I have recently discovered that the space in which I was going to put a condensing tumble drier isn't wide enough. My current non-condensing drier is narrower than anything available now. And don't get me started on fridge widths. I dare say you weren't going to!

Before I bought this place I looked at a bungalow with a tiny kitchen but a lovely conservatory where the estate agent suggested I could have the fridge freezer (as the vendors did). However I decided it would drive me mad not to have milk readily available for my morning cuppa. My friend later bought a bungalow with the same layout and agreed that it was annoying and as soon as she could save up the cash she had the kitchen extended. So my preference would be for the tumble dryer to go into the bedroom and at least a fridge in the kitchen (could cope with freezer being in different room).

Mind you, you don't know unless you measure it yourself as I'm not sure estate agents live in the same world as the rest of us (family member is EA and they definitely don't!). When youngest was rental hunting the agent said there was room for FF in gap in kitchen - well there was if you could find a FF that narrowed to 30cm wide at the back. :rotfl:

As Kirstie Allsop is often heard saying - you have to go and look for yourself. Internet viewing will only go so far.
  • Dishwashers have been mentioned also. I did tell e a that I haven't married one yet( runs very fast ,,):)
As I'm typing this , viewing confirmed 11am both flats on Monday .
    That'll ensure I get up :)

My family used to joke they had three dishwashers. Aka - child 1, child 2 and child 3 :)
  • Thank you harz:)
Weymouth tomorrow ? Not sure. I'm due to see my friend .
What I'm trying to do, is space out the week ahead(and others).
For example, Monday viewing at those flats above/ Tuesday flat around the corner from me etc. I will look into Westbourne again also.
I know time is ticking etc, but I'm trying to remain unstressed and enjoy this break which is badly needed. It may be longer than six months, as the flu and myasthenia flare up used up,most of my time already.
I don't know , if I have to,lose a bit more money than so be it. It's only life after all
