Ye gods, berocca is another fizzy drink? I assumed (!!!-u-me) it was a prescription drug for some reason. I have just googled it and besides all the crap you would expect it is full of aspartame, which has been linked to cancer and sodium! That's salt, AC! No wonder your pulse is going crazy... Yes, this is me badgering you. Try water; you pay enough for it down there.
  • Thank you smodlet :) I'm very honoured to have such wonderful people nagging me :) I know you care a lot ;)
Berocca , is just a dissolvable tablet. . Now you've mentioned the other stuff about it , I'll leave well alone .
Go back a few years , berocca and gym = perfect combination .
Why does life revolve around stress? No more of that either .

Sorry to contradict you, AC but apparently the best drink for strenuous exercise is milk... It was on a Cherry Healey doc so it must be true. :rotfl: I still say water with maybe a little dash of real fruit juice, not chemical crap. Your body is a temple, not a dustbin. <Do as I say, not as I do> Heck, we all know things are bad for us but we do them anyway (except for LL, it seems) We have to be prepared to take the consequences, though, innit?

If you really feel you need a vit c supplement (which is why most people try berroca) you can get it in tablet or capsule form without all the additional crap.

However, given you are taking prednisalone and various other meds you should really take proper medical device before taking any additional vitamins or supplements.

When my husband took prednisalone I asked about supplements and his consultant did recommend some but he said the best advice he could give was to recommend a Mediterranean diet to include 3 helpings of oily fish per week. Fortunately my husband loved fish, olives, and nuts etc so it was easy.

Oily fish helps keeps the myelin sheath in good nick. The myelin protects nerve endings - picture copper wiring protected by its rubber coating - and you will see how it works.

I understand that MG is some form of muscular weakness so it makes sense to help protect the CNS (central nervous system) and help the neurotransmitters do their job, i.e. Sending signals from the brain to the muscles.

Did you know that many autoimmune diseases, especially MS are almost non existent in southern climes. Research shows this is down to a combination of Vit D from sunlight and the Mediterranean diet with its high quantity of fish and olive oil.

The higher the latitude the higher increase in MS figures, with Scotland and Canada being the highest. This is one of the reasons why we now have new guidelines to monitor Vit d levels and to eat more oily fish, to protect against MS and of course osteoporosis.

I know I keep banging on about healthy eating but it really is crucial for you if you want to get better.

I agree you could be "self medicating" with lucosade - craving the sugars etc . It might be worth getting tested for diabetes.

    Smodlet......I'm not perfect!!!

I'm not supposed to eat grains however I really miss bread and sometimes I do have to indulge.

The absolute worst for me is pizza. I had some on Monday. Never again. :rotfl:

Just jumping in for the nag fest...
There have been a lot of coffee shops mentioned recently. That was one of the habits which were to be ditched once you'd left London.
How about the croissant habit??? Think about the expense as well as calories/sugar.
    Waggy finger.
Sorry. I have no reason for complacency having just eaten 2 biscuits which will really not help me lose weight.
As Smodlet (sorry if it was Wendym or someone else) said, do as I say not as I do!!

It was I, Verbatim... And I loathe hypocrisy but for friends, sometimes one has to make an exception. ;)

    Thanks verbatim :)
Croissants , are no more . I have to go somewhere, or may as well stay indoors and rot away . Hope you understand :) knowing nobody , means I have to frequent places for a bit, the cut down, then stop.
I haven't been going in there as much , so I'm phasing out slowly.
Plus, I haven't eaten as much, since I've been in this flat.
