Pred is funny in how it affects people. OH was pumped full of the stuff, never gained an ounce.

Well dad not too good. Didn't see consultant because test results not back yet. Blood transfusion not as successful as hoped.

Not in the slightest, wendym... I still say there is some kind of understanding that places which serve dehydrating liquids also have to serve the rehydrating kind free of charge... but I have probably watched far too many eps of Bar Rescue :beer::p:beer:

Sorry about your dad, LL. Worrying is exhausting.

My former GP was very cross when he got the same autoimmune thing as me, mainly because he had never heard of it. He sailed through in just a couple of years of pred, and didn't gain an ounce either.

So long as it was not Starbucks... Costa, I believe, pay their UK taxes.

LL - last year we treated ourselves to a small espresso machine and a grinder. I get beans delivered from a specialist shop in Chesterfield, not expensively, and am now really picky. I am allowed one espresso a day.

I will definitely try your recommendation though.

Starbucks coffee sucks!!

It hardly has the strength to fall out of the pot. :rotfl:

That's the trouble with all the chains - it's all milk and froth, hardly any coffee.....

No wonder they make such good profits.

We have a proper Italian coffee shop in my city. Been there for aeons.....so has the decor:D.

But the coffee is fab, the waiters are handsome and flirt with me and you get a free biscotti....:rotfl:

The indie coffee shops are usually better than the chains by miles.
