Hi AC. Still so chuffed for you, fortune favours the brave - you deserve the best and happiest future moving forward.
Now, how many bank accounts do you have? All with Nationwide? It will be hard to open new ones while you are seen as a risk with DMP and poor credit but you will soon have £250k in cash and need to make sure it's safe. You are only protected up to £75k. I wonder if premium bonds are protected? Might be worth looking at[STRIKE]Total debt 1.11.10 £23,446[/STRIKE]Save £6k in 2015 #129 £6121.66/£6000Save £6k in 2016 #39 £6000/£60000 -
Well done AC, happy for you.
In terms of the £75k limit, is money from a house sale protected for a certain time, 6 months? Think you have to apply for it though.

Morning AC. Following on from my earlier thoughts I googled Twickenham removal and storage, and got this company:
http://www.caseyremovals.com/richmond-twickenham.html
Now, I'm not making a recommendation but they look okay, and customer focused on the face of it.
I know there has been chat about using a removals firm with storage based in Poole, but I think you'll struggle with finding that, as any half decent company is going to want to see what they are moving before taking on the job, and you're a long way to go for an estimate!
Can you share with us what progress you have made with regards to meeting NW re short term financial help?
Have you given any thought to my suggestion about using Booking.com to sort out cancellable hotel accommodation?
Well AC, here's another phone call you can make - they claim to be there to answer calls up to 9pm every night.0 -
I go missing for a day, and miss this????
One thought occurred : if I could get a 2 bed hse( or flat if I'm unlucky),
Then when I get to almost retirement age, sell and get a 1 bed.
If you ever contemplate buying and selling again, you are so off my Christmas card list.
I wasn't having fun while I was off the radar - watching my techie SIL struggle to almost set up my new laptop, which is being a b@st@rd.
I don't think they are "fun to play with ". This one is within hours of being dumped in a bucket of water.0 -
Thanks all again .:)

Or: get 1 bed hse( if possible ) and have everything done with.
Or a 1 bed flat wih minimum surcharges .( probably worst case scenario)
So many nice modern flats, but service charges are off putting
Certainly you could go for a 1 bed straight away but not worth buying 2 bed and then selling for 1 bed as any cash gained would be wiped out by fees. Buy within your long term budget initially or wait until you get new pt jobI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Time for some serious "h y g g e ". Puter says no to proper word spacing.
It's horrible here. Cold wet and miserable.
I feel like running off to Bali. :rotfl:
Instead I have to make do with cranking up the boiler and snuggling under (fake) fur throws. I'm going to give in and light the fire tonight........
Anyhoo...... AC had a quick look for hotels in Poole. Looks like plenty of choice, reasonable rates. I Don't think you'll have any problems.
One of my old employers offered me a job. I'm mulling it over. I wouldn't mind summers only but winters on building sites aren't much fun. The "office" is usually a converted garage which is bad enough, but then visitors on site usually leave the doors open so you get an artic blast.
I'll see if I can wangle it for summers only to just provide holiday cover now and again otherwise I think I will graciously decline.
Working would so cramp my style, dahhhhlings. :rotfl:0 -
I asked one of my other Brothers for some cash, and he kindly helped me out . As you can tell, I didn't think it was fair to ask him
again as I owe him over£3k already .(400here and there ,soon mounts up).
Still ,I've made it up in my budget what to pay back to everybody
.worse case scenario included .
I've go to stop making a drama out of everything now,and carry on packing
I will check removal quotes to Poole today onwards , including storage ,as that's where stuff is going .:) .0
