Nowhere else for them:)
1 more day to go ...
The only charity shop I know that will take them is our local YMCA. They Are the least snooty.Otherwise Wendym and Smodlet are right. Charity shops don't want them.
The only other thing I can think of are women's refuges. They will take anything. The women and children often arrive in the middle of the night in nothing but their nightclothes. They have literally nothing. Eventually they are rehomed so a few coathangers might come in handy.0 -
How's the stand up circuit in Poole?
This refers to AC and his hang ups, not to LL!0 -
I don't know where you are based, wendym, but if charity shops are "snottily dismissive" of anything, their volunteers need a lesson in manners, imo.
I'm excited for you, AC and think wendym may be on to something; you have missed your calling.0 -
Actually, for the biggest non stop laugh a minute stand up routine. head to any branch of nationwide . This is where managers are invisible ,and their staff patronising and beyond useless. They are going backwards , as Fred flintstone can testify. Flip side is ,
You must be prepared for fun to be had at your expense.0 -
Pretty much the same in any bank, or BS pretending to be a bank, AC.
Without a prior appointment, you will not get to see a decisionmaker/manager.
Their time is precious don't you know, and our time I hear you ask - pfft...
Anyhow, all together now - Eee I adi-oh, one more day to go.0 -

Thanks harz:)
How do you make a prior arrangement ?
I went to a different branch, and was told the only way to do business is to phone them .
Much longer story, which I don't need to mention.
Tomorrow : the most decisive day of my life(probably ) ..:)0 -
You could try calling them, AC... We did when we tried to open a joint account with the Ballsifax. Terrible customer service in there, too, imo. Stuck with the NatWest; so far, their's has been pretty good.0

AC, you're right. NW only seem to want to do business via phone and the net now, also video link (Nationwide Now) which I think is done in branch where available.
I must admit it's been a couple of years since I last dealt face to face with a Manager in a NW branch, as I only use them to hold a bit of cash and get my State Pension paid in - all on the net.
Bloody poor show IMHO.0 -
AC, may (or may not) help:
http://www.nationwide.co.uk/about/media-centre-and-specialist-areas/media-centre/press-releases/archive/2015/4/20-nationwide-now-extended-to-100-more-branches
Although I can't find a list of branches that offer this service!!0 -
My Barclays doesn't take phone calls, and letters addressed to the manager are forwarded to HQ in another city unopened, where they are ignored.
They seem to be all equally rubbish.0
