AC, you don't have to go and look at every, single thing you are told about unless it looks/sounds worth it on the interweb. I am on firm ground now, baby, I spent the better part of two years spending up to eight hours a day, five, six, seven days a week trying desperately to find us somewhere we could stand to live. I won't go into details, think I already mentioned not all moves are from choice. You have the luxury of time/renting while you look around and your move is from choice. Make the most and please, remember you will be chain-free if you play it that way and therefore a seller's dream. HTH.0

Thanks smodlet . You're very wise;)
Will take on board your very good advice
Cheers0 -
Me, wise? Long time since I've been called that, AC... older, sadder, more bitter and maybe, I'd like to think, a tiny bit wiser but most of that comes from OH, who is a much older soul than I.
All the best and looking forward to hearing about your trip/findings next week. Have a good 'un!0 -
What a difference a few weeks make, AC!
I can sense your excitement about moving.
No longer Another Casualty
Definitely Accepting Challenges and Anticipating Change.
Actually Champing-at-the-bit to get going!
Soon to be Assessing Contenders for your new home.
And, hopefully before too long, Almost Completed, then Actually Completed, on a property.
I, too, would favour renting for a while, though, getting to know the different areas a bit better, looking for work, making music/leisure contacts.
Suggest walking everywhere to lose weight (except when sussing out the public transport, of course).
You haven't actually lived there before; once you have, you might find you priorities change a bit.
Once you have the cash in hand, and no chain, you'll be in a great position to make offers.0 -

Read through your thread. You have also given me food for thought also.
Whilst I know that you are concentrating on moving at the moment, I did wonder about your DMP. It is with a free company ie you are not paying a fee?
It is probably irrelevant if you will clear your debts with the money from the move. However you may well want to check that all of your creditors can produce a signed copy of your credit agreement. If they can't then, that debt could be unenforceable (especially if you took out the credit before about 2007), and you wouldn't have to pay it back at all. So more money to support yourself with from the house sale
good luck with your trip to the sea side
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Thanks chev
It's with Payplan ( free).
I intend to ask for a settlement figure , or write direct with the intention of getting some money knocked off.

This one will do nicely - I like Poole, where you have been looking seems much more expensive!
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Check you out, Gallygirl, but, to each their own, yes? What think you, AC? This house looks the biz if it's the kind of thing you're looking for, it's beautiful but it is very close to a major road and screaming distance from the sea, on two sides! Still, I guess if you want to live in Poole, you don't mind being surrounded by water (yikes, personally)
I would definitely check out the possibility of flooding of any property I was interested in via
http://apps.environment-agency.gov.uk/wiyby/37837.aspx except the "what's in my back yard" bit is down at the moment, helpful of them.0
