Yep, I've gone for chase Buchanan . Will sign contract next Monday .
Got a get my energy certificate sorted out. Plus the bottom of my boiler , has to be replaced . Costs about £75. It has silver tape holding it together for the moment.
It's all happening. I've just found some tour programmes from bands I've seen back in the day, and stuck them on flea bay .
    Times are hard.
With your support and my perseverance , I'll get there.;)

Bless you, AC, you could maybe re-read your whole thread and see just how far you have come. You sound so positive now. I can only imagine this indicates this is the right decision for you. You are an inspiration, at least, to me.
  • Thanks smodlet ☺️
TBH , it's just down to what I've experienced over the years.
I played safe for too long , especially through this recession which hasn't gone away IMHO .
I'm scared , but after a few days off work I came back to the same hit .
    I'm so bouncy again .
Had a meeting with the pensions advisor where I work , and told him of my plans. I'm gonna try to keep the pension when I leave , and pay £25 a month or so yo keep it going . Fingers crossed .
His father has mg as well. How bizarre;)
This time next week I'll be in the Poole area. Looking forward to it .

AC, I know this wouldn't be a permanent job, but with your kind of skills, could you do Christmas work for the Royal Mail and maybe follow on with applying for a part time job with them?

Our neighbour's son did exactly this last Christmas. He said he had earned enough in two months to keep him going for another 4 after that, he had so many shifts. Then they kept some of the casuals, including him, over to January because it was so busy. Then his supervisor encouraged him and a couple of the others to apply for part time work with them, and he says it is working out well. He's 30+, spent most of his working career working in call centres and just wanted a change.

Health stable apart from the weight ;)
  • I was wondering , how much cash do I need to pay upfront when selling my flat ??
The way one of my friends was talking, I need a few hundered pounds at least . I know about the energy certificate . But do I have to pay for anything else upfront like land searches etc? Times are hard .
    Please advise if you can;)

Hi, you don't have to pay for searches when selling a house, the buyer does.
I signed my paperwork for selling yesterday and only had to pay the EPC

Thanks Anna ;) you're moving also ? Hope it works out for you too;)
I was saying to my friend that , I only needed money for the energy certificate and that everything gets paid at the end . From what you are saying , that's right . A worry off of my mind if this is the case.
Being on a dmp, I don't want to get an expensive loan.
    Cheers ;)

AC. You just pay for the energy certificate, everything else Comes at the end. The seller doesn't have to pay much out anyway, just EA fees, and solicitor, so it's easy to work out your anticipated costs.

Good luck, I'm off to Barcelona on Tuesday but will catch up when I get back.

Crazy busy here - wedding and holiday prep. All good fun. Barcelona will be manic, I shall need another holiday when I get back to recuperate.:rotfl:
