AC - what's your budget for the new place? Property is not cheap where you're looking
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

  • Thank you both ;)
    LL-Have a great time in Barcelona ;)
Gally - I hope to get something around £220.
If I get more than £400 for my place, then maybe more.
Just come back from an evening out. One of my friends is hating London more and more by the minute .
We come to the conclusion that London obviously is too expensive , but we are getting a third world service . The building I work in , is poorly run.
They are paying top dollar for a pony service.Even the basics are more or less impossible to function .ill stop waffling now .
    Can't wait to go ;)

Thanks Anna ;) you're moving also ? Hope it works out for you too;)
I was saying to my friend that , I only needed money for the energy certificate and that everything gets paid at the end . From what you are saying , that's right . A worry off of my mind if this is the case.
Being on a dmp, I don't want to get an expensive loan.
    Cheers ;)

Hey, yep I'm hopefully on the move! I live just south of Guildford and will be staying in the same area. The plan is to downsize and pay off my debts (they are rather large for just me!) and pay off my mortgage.... I have the problem that even with the £320k cash I will have left there is pretty much nothing to buy at the moment
  • Something else : The plan is to buy somewhere straight away in the areas I've mentioned. Yes , really.;) How dangerous is that .
So, maybe I will need cash for search/ survey etc.
Gonna look at energy certificate link , kindly sent to me above and sort that out.Weekend will be thoroughly tidying up , ready for the big day in Monday:)
  • Anna- my friend just moved from haslemere to Farnham last year.
He is married with wife& 3 grown ups ( uni etc.)
Been to haslemere , and like it . Never been to Guildford , although I was thinking of that area a few months ago.Whats it like ?

In Richmond / rwickenham , your price bracket only allows Propery above shops TBH . I thought about that , but. I have to do the thing that's in my head now.
Let me know how you get on . Hope it works out ;)

I'm closer to Haslemere than Guildford and love the area. A lot cheaper than where you are but still seems bonkers expensive to me!

From what I've read you are totally doing the right thing! I am staying in the area as I'm very settled with family and friends here, kids are grown up and gone but this is still where their friends are... one day I might be as brave as you and move areas :)

Good luck with it . At least you have basic stability , so if its it broke etc..
I think the reality will hit me, when I know there's no turning back.
Hopefully , once settled into new place I can be normal again;)

Just gotta see how much I need to payout , if I find a place next week or whenever .
My friend up there, just emailed me a list of estate agents in the areas and I will check this evening , and may give some a call ASAP ;)

My god , it's increasingly difficult to contain my excitement about leaving the dump I work in.
What I'm telling some people ," I'm seeing this year out- next year will be a life changing experience . Glad we're in may already , 5 months into the year .."

Trying to keep quiet now ...;)

I know this is probably a really dumb question, but you are checking online property-for-sale sites daily/several-times-a-weekly? You never know what might crop up and, if a real bargain does appear it is unlikely to hang about for long. You know you can get daily email alerts once you input your criteria, of course?

Are you at all flexible on area? Methinks, if you were a tiny bit more so, you might be more likely to find bargains but I appreciate you need to be very much on the beaten track if you don't drive and for your health. Just had a look on rightmove and, boy, is Poole in particular and Dorset in general expensive but, of course, you have to do what is right for you... what I couldn't do with £220k;)

    Yeah, I've been doing that.;)
Later on this evening, I will sign up. Tomorrow, will, phone up.
I'll probably not see anything on weds ( but you never know).
I will obviously expect to shoot down there more frequently , like once a week or something to meet estate agents who have something I must see.

Monday - day I give chase Buchanan the go ahead to sell my flat, taking photos etc. Phone solicitor , get energy certificate sorted out.

Weds- I go to Poole, and apparently I may have someone look at my flat on that day. Hopefully I have something to look at .

Saturday 21st- open day for people to view my flat.

    Then ... ;)
