Sorry, LL!
:o:o Whatever it is, I must have caught it from wendym; no offence, wendym! Aaaargh!
Absolutely no offence taken, mainly because I have no idea what 'it' might be.
Hope it's not toothache or pain killer Wopselliness. Even though that doesn't exist it looks misspelt.
Edited to add I am now intrigued. Is it going off at tangents? Insulting the residents of Bournemouth?0 -
Hi wendym, I was talking about attributing posts to the wrong person. I dunnit, I dunnit.0

Estate agents from Westbourne phoned .
Not sure which one . Trying to be discreet inthe workplace and will probably call them later on today . Obviously wanting to know my thoughts .
Will probably go back to Westbourne ( or even lower parkstone ) on Friday0 -
Just called the estate agents regarding , the flat I liked in sunningdale.
An offer has been put in for that . That's all I know .
I sounded a bit vague IMHO , because of the situation .( me living where I do , considering 2nd viewing but can't really do anything until the survey takes place in my flat ).
Left message to meridian ( Gavin / Charlie ), telling them no, to the properties in Surrey road .
I'm kinda stuck . When the survey takes place , I will know more.
Don't know if I should abandon a visit to these areas, until the report comes back from the surveyors.
I noticed some water underneath the guttering , when it rains .
Am I doomed. ?0 -
Just got an email from chase Buchanan , the survey has been done .
Squeaky bum time
Quiet on here today ..0 -

I hope your move goes successfully .
I don't know your full circumstances( do yo like your job, are you moving to a more desirable area , are you on your own etc).
The only thing I would say, if the area you intend to move to , is more desirable , then do it .
Good luck wit all that you're going through
I would like to find a new job, but haven't had much success with those I've applied for recently. I will be moving on my own, I am staying with family at the moment, but can't afford to buy in this area. I am planning to move to a cheaper area where two work colleagues live and have said it is a nice area and affordable. I am hoping the commute will be doable, since they already do it.
What is worrying me is the size of the mortgage I am taking on, almost 3 times my salary to be paid off in 13 years. The survey came back saying the house has rising damp due to a failed damp proof course, penetrating damp in the front bedroom, possibly due to poorly installed cavity wall insulation, in addition to the lead plumbing and outdated wiring I had anticipated. I think this may be too much for me to take on, and am still looking for a cheaper house. Maybe a 2up-2down terrace instead of this house, which is a 2 bed semi. I've not let the estate agent know yet though, and wondering how that conversation will go.0 -
Hope things improve for you amateur.
Sounds like a place I'd avoid , unless you love it and offer a substantial reduction in price .( ideal if you know a builder etc).
Mortgage : I guess it depends on how much you earn/ is your job easy to come by if anything goes awry. Also , you can get longer mortgage till 75 .
The rates are low .
One of the reasons I'm trying to do the move now, is that Postroom / facilities is getting less common these days . If I move to the area mentioned , Bournemouth is the place I'd have to look for work .
If I'm careful , it can be part time as mentioned .
I'm annoyed about not knowing about the surveyors turning up today .
The place was a bit untidy . Things I have to worry about ( as far as I know), is the eaves/ facial board and guttering . The rest seems fine, but I'm petrified that the potential buyers pull out .
Good luck0 -
And now .. solicitors.
The buyers solicitors are concerned , about my 'reluctance to isuue draft
contracts and supporting papers'.
My solicitor is on 2 weeks holiday from today . His colleague whom I have dealt with before , is pretty cool.
I said to my solicitor ( all via email of course).that it's best to wait until the report comes back from the survey before proceeding with the above.
I told him , if he thinks I'm wrong to contact me today .
Not sure if I've done the right thing . We'll see I guess0 -

My advice was to hold fire until the survey has been done, which has happened - so you know your buyer is serious as they have invested money in the process.
No need now to hold off any longer on the solicitor starting contacts etc., IMHO go back to your solicitor and ask him/them to start on their side of things asap.
Do you know what type of "survey" was done? Could it just have been a mortgage valuation drive by type thing not requiring entry to the property?0
