Spoken to my friend in lower park stone today .
Bournemouth is out ! I knew it was a major place for stag do's / hen do's
Etc. Basically , it would drive me crazy . ( his words).
Westbourne is better. Also, penn hill( the middle part , so I won't be isolated). And..lower park stone !
Part of me thinks that, my friend may think I'm gonna be trying to be around him and his family all the time . THat is obviously not gonna be the case. If I make the move ( hopefully the right one ), I will leave tem alone, as we all have our own lives to lead.
I emailed that sunningdale flat, letting him know where I've been .
He may give me some more good advice , about the area0 -
Thanks LL . Yeah, you're right as always . A day off from everything is a good idea !:0

Hi AC, LL, all,
AC, I thought you were concerned about things being too quiet for you; now the opposite seems to be the case. Here's a thought: If a place is "too quiet" (no such thing, imo) you can always go out and look for excitement. If it is too noisy, it will be ongoing torture about which you can do nothing; trust me on that one.0 -

Slept intermittently after.
Was gonna browse Bournemouth , but felt fed up and frightened.
Looked on rightmove yesterday for a large chunk of the day .
Maybe I've worn myself out
Wherever I go , it'll be quieter than London .
I saw a couple of nice studios in Bournemouth yesterday. What if I buy 2?
Too much hassle , for what it's worth I suspect .
Apparently Westbourne is a village . Could that be cliquey, and hard to integrate ? Doubt ymca , will be sung on every corner .
Crazy really. All that equity, and if you move a foot outside London ,you can't get back in . Was thinking of equity release , but that's supposed.to be dodgy except in the right circumstances .
I could've been in new surroundings by now . I did make a pigs ear of things though , as I only decided to move in May . Listening to the spiel of the estate agents, I could've been in new surroundings by about now.
Panic for me really , as I haven't much time to get a move on .
Scardey cat? Me ? Absolutely:)
I've been following this thread for the last few weeks and I can completely understand the doubts you are having and the questioning yourself about whether you are doing the right thing. A big life change like this is always going to be scary.
I am a similar age to you AC and in the process of moving, though only around 10 miles for me and I will be staying in the same job, and I am having doubts. After having an offer on a house accepted and the survey being done, mortgage approved I am now wondering whether to withdraw my offer and look for something cheaper.
I don't know who said this but there is a lot of truth in it:

Smodlet - good point . I pray you will have a more bearable life in the future . I understand the pressure you are under . We can only suffer so much. Things have to change for all of us. Change is life .0 -
The flat harz posted in BH1 looks amazing. The lounge is huge. Two bathrooms
Would you be bothered by stag and hen parties in Bournemouth? Are you going to be "in the thick of it" moving between bars and clubs on Friday and Saturday nights? I'm sort of guessing not.
That flat is a stone's throw from the station so ideal if you have visitors or want to explore the country. You can escape to anywhere if Bournemouth gets busy at the weekends. Poole has a ferry terminal to France and the Channel Islands.
If I had the money, I would buy it.0 -

Thanks for the kind words amateur.
I hope your move goes successfully .
I don't know your full circumstances( do yo like your job, are you moving to a more desirable area , are you on your own etc).
The only thing I would say, if the area you intend to move to , is more desirable , then do it .
Good luck wit all that you're going through0 -

This is hardly an in depth analysis, but both my daughter and I thought Bournemouth was an odd mixture. Loads of invalid carriages but also lots of gangs of youths.
And it's not the same as your life, but when she was younger she taught in a small village school in Norfolk, living in the next door small village. Wherever she looked she was the youngest person by about 25 years, and it was that that prompted her move to Yorkshire.

If it's any consolation I have had a couple of wobbles about my house purchase. It's normal.
My biggest one "is it too small". The answer of course is no it's not.
The answer is, despite my best decluttering efforts, I still have way too much stuff. :rotfl:
When I did the viewing I was measuring the bedrooms to see what I could do with fitted wardrobes. THe EA who was a young man, a very sweet piece of eye candy:rotfl:, asked me in wide eyed innocence "do you have a lot of clothes".
My son just burst out laughing.........
This morning I have been tidying up and stock taking.
Let's just say I have got some way to go before I can call myself a minimalist. :rotfl:
Shattered now so having a rest. I was awake at silly o'clock too.
Time for my power nap.0
