Hi all, that does look to be a seriously impressive bus route, harz, does the bus grow fins and swim across the bay, a la James Bond's car?
AC, if you even think of buying and selling again within a year, just write in big and stick on your fridge, "2 x Stamp Duty = x months' rent."0 -

Great way of putting it......really Rams home the message.
Just want to say Hi  to Karmacat.
Was wondering where you'd got to. Glad to hear you are retired now. :j:j:j
Onwards and upwards my dear....you'll soon start to feel the benefits.
Your Third Act begins. :rotfl:
Just had a call from my friend in Devon. She's just invited herself here next week. Should be fun.0 -
AC, when you come to do budgets for living in Poole/Bournemouth this site lists the bus pass prices and validity:
http://www.morebus.co.uk/page.shtml?pageid=1017
Obviously there is also Yellowbuses, but I think for your purposes morebus will be all you need.
As you can see their current maximum price for 4x90 day ABC zone tickets to cover everywhere you could wish to go, and probably more besides, works out at £848 in total for 5 days less than a whole year using the smartcard or App systems.
How does that compare with your present transport costs in London?
Thanks harz- you are tops !:)
I currently pay £2188.00 per year zone 1-5 covering train/ bus/underground. Season ticket runs out in November .
Price goes up in Jan . If I were to remain here, the fare would be over£2,0000 -
Just had a quick view of some properties on right move for Christchurch .
Had to laugh. The first property looked really nice .But, it is right by a jehovas witness place. Wouldn't want people knocking on my door at random singing all along the watchtower. No disrespect to j w btw.
Some nice places. A lot to think about .
Regards survey :
I will probably send my solicitor an email explaining the facial boards/ eaves . They do look grubby. The outside of my ( and the other 3 flats ) have not been touched in the 14 years since I've been here.
The cost is split 4 ways . This could be an issue with buyers . They may want me to take a drop in price . They may not want my flat after all.
They may want me to get the job done before they move in .
Maybe that could be what the other viewers of my flat saw.'too much work'0 -
LL will know, but your buyers have seen the flat as it is.
Why email anyone to point out a problem?0 -
Thanks smodlet .
Good question . I suppose I was thinking of it as, a heads up to the solicitor
Also , saving him asking me the question when the situation arises. If the buyers do show concern , then my solicitor would have an immediate answer which may deter them from trying to reduce price/ pulling out etc
A friend of mine pointed out , that the surveyor will highlight this in their report.0 -

AC, your solicitor will not want to know, unless there is some negotiation on works cost between you and your buyer resulting from their survey, which may, only may, need to be put in the contract. At this stage nothing known so no email needed.
Try not to overthink things which haven't happened yet.0 -
Thanks harz0

Hello Karnakat. Great name
You could be right . Had a beer with one of my friends, who is very shrewd and experienced all sorts in his years of moving.
He leaves no stone unturned, and he knows the score etc:)
He does like the flat in portarlington road. Bh4 8bx:)I may even go there for a second viewing . ( yes , I know rent first..). It is ready to move into 99%!just a change of carpet. It is a good location for the shops , and it was a bolt out of the blue . Was 50/50'on just going home. I will check their website. Hamiltons0
