AC, as long as you have access to a bus route which finishes at, or goes through, Bournemouth Interchange, the world is your lobster (don't do oysters) for shopping, travelling etc. If it's large shops you want the M1 bus terminates at the huge retail park at Castlepoint in Bournemouth.0 -

I dunno , nothing's grasped me yet .althoigh, there are nice studios .
Wouldn't mind buying two . But that would workout too expensive .

Tip, put Bournemouth Rail Station in as your search point and within 1 mile, then try the next step and so on.
The rail station is part of the interchange.0 -

Woke up around 4 am , after a bad dream involving mum/ me/ one of my brothers/my old cat and the house we used to live in.
Slept intermittently after.
Was gonna browse Bournemouth , but felt fed up and frightened.
Looked on rightmove yesterday for a large chunk of the day .
Maybe I've worn myself out
Wherever I go , it'll be quieter than London .
I saw a couple of nice studios in Bournemouth yesterday. What if I buy 2?
Too much hassle , for what it's worth I suspect .
Apparently Westbourne is a village . Could that be cliquey, and hard to integrate ? Doubt ymca , will be sung on every corner .
Crazy really. All that equity, and if you move a foot outside London ,you can't get back in . Was thinking of equity release , but that's supposed.to be dodgy except in the right circumstances .
I could've been in new surroundings by now . I did make a pigs ear of things though , as I only decided to move in May . Listening to the spiel of the estate agents, I could've been in new surroundings by about now.
Panic for me really , as I haven't much time to get a move on .
Scardey cat? Me ? Absolutely:)0 -
Things are always scarier if you have to do them all by yourself. You'll be fine, just plod on.
I woke at the same time but got up and now wish I hadn't.
I should think if you buy 2 studios, you would get stung for 2 lots of council tax.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -

It is understandable you are apprehensive AC as this is a big move but staying as you are is not an option and you know that.
I would not go down the BTL road by buying two. IMHO it is a nightmare coping with tenants and what happens if they trash the place or don't pay their rent. You also either need to be very clued up re tax and be qualified to do electrics etc as red tape/regulations are now very onerous for landlords.
I would not panic or rush into decisions. You are better taking your time even if it means putting stuff in storage and renting. We did that when moving from London area to Cornwall and we did it with 2 small children. Just rented a small cottage (although we had help with costs from my husbands employer as it was a job move) and took our time in buying down in Cornwall. We still in the same house 28 years later!!
when you exchange have a look at rental properties as I imagine you not in position to put down deposit until completion and as you don't drive use stations or bus routes as your search area. "For the night is dark and full of terrors".
4-00 am is sooooo not the time to make decisions ..........
Give Rightmove a break today, do something else.
What's the weather like, go for a walk, maybe a pub lunch if you can afford it, or just a coffee and piece of cake somewhere.
If it's horrible then go and visit a museum or art gallery, most are free and usually have a cafe.
Or if you are too tired, Spend an afternoon at the cinema, stuff your face with popcorn and relax with a nice film.
Come now....you can do this. You just a need a day off.
Take some Time out to stop the brain whirring.
And one more time.......
Stop fretting over your next purchase. Wait. It's just too much for you to try and do it all at once.
Rent, rest, search and buy, in that order!!!!!
As they say in Bonnie Scotland "Think with yer heed" (head)
"Fools Rush In Where Angels Fear to Tread".
Switch off, chill out.
Speaking of films......my kids dragged me off to see "Finding Dory". I only went to humour them, I didn't think I would enjoy it.
How wrong was I. It's a fab little film.
I give it 5 stars.0
