If he's part of the problem... still, so long as it does not stop it, it is all to the good for you, I think. Well done again and please let us know how you get on, Anna. S x0

Okay..this will be long. You have been warned!
First:Thanks to all for your support- new posters and the usual suspects.
Without you , I would be worse off in certain aspects.
Anna- at last yo are getting there! Great stuff.:)
Now , my day:
1) great journey to branksome .
2)I guess which side to exit the station.
I guess right . A few people at the bus stop. I strike up a conversation with a chap sitting on a bench at the bus stop. Abou 10 mins or so.all good.
Leading me to....
3) Huge traffic jam , due to accident( Wesex corner). Nearly an hour on bus, for 10/12 min journey. I don't know the way, so,I stayed on bus.
Liaise via phone with Hattie from Paris sales. She is held up too.
So we met ,at about 12.50 instead of 12pm..leading to the properties..
4) Hattie had to rescue me. I wasn't too far off. Surrey road. Very very long road! Hattie is very pretty, very professional, and very nice and down to earth.posh Totty
5) S he showed me2 properties. Both had a few flights of stairs.
The first flat ( the nicer of the 2) had its own lift. We shared that.
Thankfully , I didn't break,it with my weight. Beauty and the beast.
In the middle of this, I was liaising with Gavin from goadsby about the delay for the 1 pm appointments.
6) Both flats hattie showed men, we're not suitable. The staircase in flat 2 was like something out of east endears . Talk about depressing.
There was a guy waiting to do building work/ repairs who should've been in flat 2. But the accident ( remember that?) held everything up.
7) finally met Gavin from goadsby. He was saying , he was a man down had so many viewings etc. Not straight away, but he was under pressure because of me . Remember the accident .
So, guess what ? 2 more viewings ..in Surrey road! You probably guess I don't like this road by now. Way too much faffing about! All these agents know I can't drive! Anyway...
8) both ground floor flats. More modern. Better . 1 st flat, had a granny ?
( nice old lady with a 4/5 year old girl).
Not bad , but no feeling..leading to ...
9) the best flat of the 4 so far. Gavin did say it was. It's priced at £245,000
I said I'd look. Communal entrance.( they all were btw).
Spacious. More or less move in condition.
And...there was a lovely cat on the bed . Yes, I made a fuss of it. Sod Gavin
He's young 20 something, irritating and slimy .
He mentioned the guy who owns it is from jp Morgan .
I asked him about the clientele . Mainly bankers. He kept mentioning j p Morgan . This brought me to a mini rant about me hating the city and what it stands for. Greed etc.where did that come from??
10) I was left to walk back to Westbourne from Surrey road. Got lost.
He should've offered to drive me at least halfway. He is young, and stupid .
Sorry, but I'm totally honest and don't really know how to describe him.
No offence to youngsters meant .
11) waited ages for bus, initially waiting on wrong side of the road.
Bus drivers, most good and friendly.
12) found Westbourne . Was gonna get a coffee, but something said to put my name down with one more agent while I'm here.i did.
Hamiltons. Saw a guy ( name forgot ). Told him my situation.
He told me ,' Surrey road is not a good road'. I wasn't keen on him.
Very pompous imho , but he sent me to..
13)21 portarlington road bh4 8bx. A pretty Czech estate agent was showing someone around. Took absolute ages(25 mins). I was patient, as i just got a random viewing. Lovely quiet road. Too quiet? About a 7/8 min walk from all the shops. Lovely flat. Communal entrance. Move in condition.
Very spacious. I love cats, but the estate agent says she doubts there are any . If you google it, you may give your opinion
Asking price over£225,000. I said, if I were tipo bid, I'd say £212,000.
It's a probate flat apparently, and the family are willing to negotiate.
Obvious reasons . The best of all the flats....
14) so, I told Hattie I'm not old enough for the ones she kindly showed me . She knew that anyway.
Gavin ? Surrey road? No!
15) had a brief bacon sandwich in the arcade. They put salad on my plate.
Ugh! Angry! Covered that up with napkin.
16) got to branksome station and had to wait 35 mins.
No toilets. Busting . After leaving my home at 07.15, I get home 20.12
My thoughts : am I too young for Westbourne ?Is it too quiet?
I'm in between a rock and a hard place imho.
Maybe I should rent instead. Health comes first.Maybe I buy that flat, and sell it next year. Priority is to clear debt/ leave job/ lose that weight.
After today's events , I'm more confused than ever.
LL, I am a cissy0 -
Forgot to mention. Was slurring my speech a couple of times today.
Even ordering the bacon sandwich .poxy m g0 -
AC, well done. A long day with it's drawbacks but you got over them. I think today has been a perfect illustration of why renting for six months could be a very sensible option. Tracking down your new home will be so much easier without the travelling and the exercise will be of benefit too - a win double!.
Any news on your sale, survey date etc.?0 -
Thanks Harz
No news, I would think next week. However, knowing me estate agent it could be tomorrow .
A lot to think about . I'll sleep on it for now0 -
Can't sleep
Did I mention, the second flat smelt of fried onions?
Not impressed.
Scared now . Haven't researched jobs in Bournemouth , but I'm not really well for that TBH.
One of my friends ( who lives in Southampton ) m says that there may not be anything for me . He says Westbourne may well be too quiet for me .
The friend who lives in park stone thinks that I may get bored easily .
Maybe I should rent in twickenham for a short while.
Once I lose weight, maybe start dating. Obviously as a couple , things like this are easier.
If my health wasn't so bad , I'd have no excuse.
There are people far worse off than me . If I rent for 5 years , then die, at least it's an improve ment on my current situation .
G'night 0 -
Sounds like an exhausting and stressful day. Slurred speech probably down to tiredness. Sounds like you overdid it.
Harz is right - I think today has demonstrated why renting first will be so much easier and far less stressful.
Switch off and sleep well.
My day was interesting......
Rang EA - vendor still hasn't furnished her solicitor details so a week wasted........too busy:rotfl:.......takes 5 minutes to send an email or make a phone call. She sounds flakey.
Chased insurance company, car claim settled but not the medical. They tried to fob me off saying we needed to claim from the third party. I had to explain we couldn't do that because the accident was my fault!!!
The wet behind the ears insurance guy then tried to tell me they couldnt pay out.....I had to draw his attention to clause 8 of the policy T&Cs, pointing out that I had elected to buy extra medical cover......
Did I tell you that in a previous life I worked in motor insurance ......
The money will be in my bank shortly. :rotfl:
If you need a job doing .......DIY. Lol.0 -
Don't put the cart before the horse.
House move first......then dating. :rotfl:
AC. What kind of work is it that you actually do. Do you enjoy it - obviously without the boss from hell and the long commute.Do you want to stay in the same field or do you fancy a change.
Lots to think about but not tonight. Pour yourself a glass of something and just chill.0 -
Sounds like you had a good day and have an idea of the area.
As for jobs I googled minimum wage jobs in Bournemouth - I only did mw because you I think you said you didn't want stressful - and this was the first site that came up.
http://www.indeed.co.uk/Minimum-Wage-jobs-in-Bournemouth
Lotsof variety and I am sure they will also have higher waged ones.Aiming to make £7,500 online in 20220 -
Re your friends thinking areas will be too quiet for you .......
Do they think that London is buzzing and you are out every night doing London type things ??
Sometimes people imagine London to be the bright lights with lots going on, which it can be, but if you work commute sleep and repeat life is not as busy as they might think.
The area you move to needs to fill your social needs which I gather are fairly simple
Does Twikenham really offer more social opportunities than Poole ?0
