hiddenshadow - ha omg I never thought of that! It certainly makes sense as I didn't exactly start the loan on the 1st, but now I'm dying to know what dates they're using
Hollyboll - you are so right but I am as transparent as anything and am very likely to start blurting:o. I'll make sure to re-read your post before I go in and drop the bomb though. What's funny is that I have a sneaky feeling another 3-4 people (from a team of less than 30!) are looking for options to leave as well, plus there are 2 mat leave vacancies and just plain old vacancies they haven't been able to fill yet, so I can't wait to see what it will look like once the rest of us start jumping ship!:rotfl:
ScotinLondon - PM me any time, I'm happy to help! Although having said that, I haven't had to write anything for my objectives as they were signed off by my previous employer who was a platinum provider and therefore exempt. That said, I'm relatively good at BS'ing and can certainly help you identify bits of your job that could be relevant to the objectives
In terms of updates it's all at a bit of a standstill I'm afraid... the offer has been in the making for 13 days now which is LONG - and although they got in touch today to tell me it's been approved internally I have yet to see any formal documentation so I'm reluctant to resign just yet. OH is without comms at work this week so I won't be able to talk to him until he comes home Friday evening, which is definitely making this whole process a bit more frustrating.
Resolution-wise I'm still on track with vegetarian meals and reading but exercise/weight wise I have done NIL pretty much. Three or four runs and one session at the gym in 2 months isn't exactly great when I'm trying to lose nearly 2 stone. That half marathon in May is looking unlikely at the moment as well at this rate... but I just can't bring myself to run in this cold weather
MSE-wise? No NSD's so far this monthbut I have realised (apologies if I've mentioned it previously, I can never remember what I've written on here already!) that with the new job I'll save nearly £600 in commuting costs per year :T. I'm also STILL waiting for €on to rectify my incorrect meter readings so that they stop charging me an outrageous £89/month and I can take some of it back!

I must say I am grateful for the gym next door to work - running on a treadmill is a bit boring, but there's no excuse not to do it, really!
Remind me of that tomorrow when I have to do a 28min run.Legs are still wobbly from yesterday's cycling adventure!

Ha that reminds me that one thing I can't for relating to the new job is that I'll have an affordable yet great gym in the office! I checked their class schedule and they seemed to have up to 20 classes a day so I can't wait to start! :jMortgage Oct '20: £615k

Well I did it! Got the contract through on Thurs after having waited FOURTEEN business days and resigned pretty much straight away. Resigning took four meetings over two days, three with various levels of bosses and one with HR. Cried in one meeting and teared up in another with more tears once home as I will miss most of my team, no matter how unhappy I was with the job itself. BUT it's all done now and although I suspect I will be shedding more tears over the course of my notice period (only 1 month! and less with holiday days I plan on taking) but I'm already super excited about starting the new job so it all balances out
.
That'll be £700 more per month to play with as of April! :TMortgage Oct '20: £615k

Congrats! That's a nice big chunk of extra cash to play with.
Definitely understand missing the team more than the job....I've had several jobs where that's the case (and a few where the opposite was true!).0 -
OH left for work this morning (at 4am ) and won't be back until the 18th so I should be able to save some on food shopping this month. Our last 2-3 weekends have been a lot better money wise as well, with not a single meal out, no takeaways and no cinema! E.g. yesterday I just made a big lasagna (packed lunches all done!) and we watched the time traveler's wife on good old freeview
.
Whilst he's gone I've got a few bits around the flat that I want to take care of - I still haven't fixed the chipped bathroom sink, the new curtains for the living room need shortening (am I mad for trying to hand stitch them?) and if I've got time I would like to paint the bedroom as the magnolia is looking extra bland now that we have lots of white furniture in there. Oh and the bath tub silicone needs ripping out and replacing as mould has gotten in behind it.... Hm, maybe this is tad too much to take on in the ONE weekend I have without him? :rotfl:Mortgage Oct '20: £615k

Ha, every weekend I start out with grand plans of all the house things we'll get done. So far, no magical progress in about 6 months of weekends! Though DH did clean the wood floors and tidy upstairs this weekend which is nice as it looks so much cleaner/roomier now.
Good luck with the curtains - I've been meaning to learn to make some (just for fun, though our bedroom curtains could use tweaking/replacing). Hand stitching sounds relaxing (to me, anyway) but time-consuming! Good for tv watching, though.0 -
Ha that's what I'm fearing hiddenshadow - the odds are I won't really complete any of it! With the OH gone though I do get that extra motivation of finishing it as I would love to see the look on his face when he comes back. I did the same thing last summer when he was away with work for two months and he came home to a repainted kitchen/living room, new carpet in the living room and laminate floor in the hallway!
I ordered the paint for the bedroom (gone with Dulux perfectly taupe) and homeb@se had a 2 paints for £24 deal! Very fortuitous as that saved me £15
I've also ordered the colour thread I need for the curtains and have researched youtube videos of slip stitches in preparation... such a dork :rotfl:Mortgage Oct '20: £615k

TT'd £2.06, took a packed lunch in to work and spent under a pound on dinner (jacket potato and beans - yum!). All in all a good day.
Came home late tonight (7.30pm) and had dinner whilst skyping my parents. Since then I've put a wash on, unloaded the dishwasher and am curled up in bed with the laptop and a mug of decaff tea. Sooo cozy but sometimes I feel guilty for how used to I am of being without the OH...Mortgage Oct '20: £615k

Sounds nice!
DH only stays late at work a couple of times a month to socialise but it is nice having the house to myself (even if I do generally just end up doing laundry).
