Aren't some buyers just plain rude?

Hi
I am so fed up of buyers sending me emails with no courtesy, no greeting or close. Just bold statements. I had one today THE BOOK HAS STILL NOT ARRIVED - that was it.

I am getting about 1 a day following the post office strike where items are delayed and a lot of them just can't be bothered with common courtesy, but if I was to reply in the same vein -well!

Then there sre the witters who complain 2 days after posting and send you an update every day after the postman has been for the 10 days 2 weeks until deemed missing!

    I know what you mean!!!

I had one last week saying 'WHY HAS IT NOT ARRIVED YET TELL ME WHEN YOU POSTED IT'

I wouldn't mind but they didn't send a message through the item so beacuse I had sold a few things I had to trawl through to find the member and saw that it had been 3 days since payment!!! I had posted it anyway but there's just no need for it!!!!
  • Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr the above gets me going too, I can't believe people are that rude to write such curt messates. But don't you think that ignorant, intolerant and bad mannered attitudes are increasing, especially when on the roads.
  • :rotfl: quite agree best ones are when they have only sent the cheque the day before (which hasn't arrived due to postal strike etc) and they want it asap!
then there are those who pay with paypal and wonder why it is not there the very next day (work , women ,booze. last two are my faultish though!!! )

It no coincidence that since eBay spent a fortune on advertising & raising its profile that there has been a massive upturn in what can be termed as "special buyers"

I have had the daily post update from a couple of buyers, whom both took 10 days to pay & thought nothing of doing that.

But the question is, did they pay promptly?

That's all that's expected of a buyer to deserve a pos, the moment you get the funds....!!

(ahem.... stand back and watch the fireworks..)

I had one buyer who sent a cheque and was demanding that item should be sent a few days later, considering it was bank holiday weekend.

Becuase of the buyers hurry, I decided to wait the full 10 WORKING days, as I had a bad feeling that the cheque may bounce, told the buyer of this wait and the reason but still ended up with a NEG!

Got 1 neg and 1 Neutral, both for waiting cheques to clear, had enough with accepting them, its postal order or paypal, tough!

It's all those new buyers on eBay, those adverts on TV, billboards, papers etc are bl**dy working and getting a load of new genaration TW*TS!

Sorry about the rant! Over now!

Totally agree... recently sold my MX5 on fleabay and although my buyer was a very nice chap then some of the questions I got asked were just... well plain bloody idiotic! Would I swap a rare colour on the low side milage(under 70k) 2 seater sports car - clearly only for sale as I had no spare parking space for it - for a Saab with 137k on the clock? Ehhhh that'd be a no!!!
    DUH!
But yeah I've had my fair share of idiot buyers as well as frankly useless sellers so I guess all I can do is try my best to keep all my sales as quick and painfree as possible :) (and I always pay by paypal straight away too lol)
