Aren't some buyers just plain rude?

I am so fed up of buyers sending me emails with no courtesy, no greeting or close. Just bold statements. I had one today THE BOOK HAS STILL NOT ARRIVED - that was it. ...
I am so fed up of sellers ignoring my polite emails, not having the courtesy to acknowledge my existence by responding to a mail about how and when I will be paying, or the fact that their invoice is wrong and I cant amend it and then sending, via ebay, a !!!!!! email complaining that I haven't paid!!
Works both ways you know ...... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

I sold a Friends Scene It game on eBay about 2 weeks ago. The guy emailed me after purchasing it on BIN and said "Can I pay for it in the morning via PayPal, Babe?"...the "Babe" bit really hacked me off but I let it slide and said "Yes, as I will post it on Wednesday with some other items". he paid first thing Tuesday morning and I emailed him again, thanking him and told him I would send it 1st class recorded on Wednesday afternoon (It had to be in the afternoon as I have my 14 month old little girl and I wanted her to have her lunch before we left for the post office as it is 25 minutes away by bus).
I posted it when I said I would and emailed him the tracking number. Come Friday, after a lovely day out, I had 3 emails from him, all sent within 30 minutes, saying he hadn't received the game and he was on the understanding that it was sent 1st class recorded and if I didn't reply to him in 24 hours, he would neg me! I replied to him, explaining that I don't sit at my computer all day, everyday and gave him the tracking number again and also added that it could be delayed because of the postal strikes. He received it on the Saturday but his message was so rude and he had the cheek to send it 3 times! Annoyed the hell out of me!0 -
Next time you get a rude message from a buyer, why not wait until they've left their feedback, withhold your feedback and then send them a link to this thread. It might give them some food for thought. Good manners cost nothing.0

I stopped accepting cheques due to Buyers not wanting to wait for the cheque to clear. Some banks still require a full 7 working days to make sure that it is not returned.
I have had more problems with cheques than people paying by paypal.
I send everything Recorded Delivery and, so far, have had nothing go missing that I have sent out.
Some of the Sellers can be very rude too - you can ask a simple question about how the item was posted and when - and get no reply. This is 6/7 days after payment by paypal then I find out that the item was posted on Day 10 after payment was received.
In general Society is getting very dictatorial on all sorts of issues, no-one has any patience any more.0 -

The new adverts do seem to be attracting more and more people who do not have a grasp of common sense at all.
I have been asked ... ' do i have to wait for the auction to finish before i collect the bike ? '
So tempting to reply ' No please collect it now but you must promise to bring it back if you are outbid'
The amount of people who ask for a ' Buy it now price' on items only up for auction also annoy me a lot.
On balance though there are a lot of friendly buyers i have dealt with and at the moment i have a problem with a £150 item lost in post that has dragged on for over 6 weeks due to holidays / postal strikes and the buyer has been pleasant and patient way beyond any expectations.WHOOOOSHHHHHHHHH……..
Blimey what was that ?

And that is indeed your choice, however you don't need to let them into your house, they could just come to the front door or garage.
We all allow lots of stangers to our houses, post men, milk men, paper boys, gas and electirc meter readers, couriers dropping off and collecting items, carpet fitters, plumbers etc. (not being sexists all the above could be female as well).
A mate of mine once won an item for a chap 5 doors down the road, but he still insisted on posting it as he'd specified no collections.
My girlfriend sold an item and the buyer sent a message saying ' I have won this item and intend to collect, can you supply details of bus routes and times'

Hahaha, that made me laugh. There are some really nice eBayer though, its the small amount of people, who are increasing IMO, are ruining it.
I had problems sending out an item, buyer waiting 3 weeks, in the end I gave a partial refund amounting to the delivery, so, gave free delivery to the buyer for being so patient!0 -
The best one I had was when selling an old, battered mobile phone a few months ago. I put in the auction that although the phone worked fine, it had "several scratches". Then I took FOUR photos of the scratches on the phone. The winning bidder paid by eCheque through PayPal, and would not accept the fact that it takes up to 10 days to clear. I got numerous e-mails demanding to know why I hadn't posted it, and carfefully and patiently explained the situation to the buyer THREE TIMES and said it was not my fault if she hadn't added a credit/debit card to PayPal, I would post as soon as payment cleared. Eventually I sent the phone out and... you guessed it: negative feedback because "the phone had several scratches"
Some people really should not be let near a computer on their own... 0
