Expired button on the competitions board

+1 on support for the comments above. A solution for this needs to be found that works for all users but addresses the issue of the threads mentioned being continually expired.

There are as many posts about the thread being expired as actually useful ones.


Please can the thread by stickied, or the "expire" button revert to being only for the thread not the individual post? Or something else that stops the game of thread tennis?

I agree with the above comments. Having the thread bouncing backwards and forwards between the comps board and 'game over' is really irritating, and so must be doubly so for the BGs.

If they could be made stickies, that would help immensely. I seem to recall that there's a limited number of stickies allowed, so please could the forum technobods increase the permitted number?

The ability to expire individual posts could be useful, where those comps have expired (in threads listing multiple comps like Take a Break, etc.), but if it expires the whole thread and not just that one post, that seems pointless.

To answer your question about sticky threads, if a sticky thread is moved to another board it remains a sticky on that board. The "sticky" has to be removed if it's no longer needed as a sticky

i honestly dont see the need for an expired button on every post in the new forum whats its purpose

I also don't see any point in having an expiry option on individual posts. Where would one want to move an expired post to anyway? It sounds like a joke line to me:

Q) Where do old posts go to die?
A) They go to Game Over, and take the entire thread along for company.

(I didn't promise it was a good joke)

It would solve it now as it appears you cannot "expire" a sticky, the last mse giveaway needs moving to GO but pressing expired gets
