My Ebay item sold, for more than I expected - £4.20 + £2.80 P&P. So I'll makeabout £3.50 after fees etc. been taken off. I won't count this until it's in my account though.

I've also managed to make a parcel of books for webuybooks.co.uk which will make me £10. But before I can send it I need a suitable box. I've just checked the neighbour's recycling and there's nothing there. Would it be bad to go to the big recycling bins next to the village hall and see if anything suitable has been dumped? :)

When I was looking for the selotape to fasten my ebay package, I found 10p in the kitchen drawer - result!

I had a lodger once and it was fine until he lost his job and couldn't pay, then it all turned a bit nasty. Perhaps the problem was that we got on quite well and became friends, and I think he expected that as a friend I'd help him out... I did to an extent but couldn't afford to give him free lodgings, feed him and let him run up my utility bills. Never again!

As you say - the problem was the friendship. My rentees were business associates and were excluded from the lounge for that exact reason. They had use of the kitchen and bathroom. There were only two rules a) you pay your rent on tiome or you're out. b) You don't upset the neighbours and I'm one of the "neighbours". They paid the bills and I paid the mortgage in theory.

Worked very well - because I had a previous experience to yours and got repossessed many years before.

Can I join again for £10 a day please. I'm aiming to sell 30 things on eBay this month so I'm hoping that will help. Six things listed today so fingers crossed!

    ............

With "small parcel" items like that I tend to charge £3.50 P&P - ebay rips off 10% of your postage so I put some of the fees in the P&P - Plus there's actually a lot of work in packing it up and biking round to the PO with the big rucksack on my back ! The punters don't mind at all but ebay doesn't like it much !
  • PS a very warm welcome to the newbies as well - I was one of you a couple of months ago and failed my first month (If making money can be seen as "Failing" - lol It's a great place with great people - I guess I'm lucky to be a hoarder with loads of stuff to download, but we all do it in our own way and the encouragement we get from like minded peeps is superb ! x
  • Hi
Quick and late check in from me to report £25 made from an hour of tutoring this morning. Thank goodness because I've had no time to do anything else at all today.
  • Oooh £25 an hour is great :T - what are you tuiting ?
  • GCSE science :D It all helps that's for sure.
