If Col. mastard ever comes back to this forum to ask for help on another matter he/she is going to get a severe verbal kicking off me before he/she gets any advice.

#1. The people that run these "sell your house and rent back" companies are generally lying thieves and are best avoided

#2. This time next year house prices in general will be lower than they are now

#3. Cheap houses are a good thing not a bad thing

:) that ended well then, I have a friend who's brother is a right one, he always buys cheap cars, and when they break down, he puts them on peoples driveways, so council cant moan at him, its nearly always upto the owner of the house to get rid, he even brags that once he put a car on a drive way which had another car on, so in effect, blocked it in.

He's not got a care in the world, wont work etc, always out for money in his own pocket, sod the others.

Thinking about it, his information could save the readers millions on this site :D
    why do we do it,

spending money we dont have on things we dont need

As I understand it, the only law that can be broken is if your car is IN your driveway and is blocked in by a vehicle on the road.

That's why the police weren't interested.

Plus, the free car was on private land.

Phone your nearest scrap dealer they will gladly take it just for the price of the metal.By now i think it is safe to say the vehicle has been abandoned and you have now assumed the right of the owner so so can dispose of it in any fashion you choose including moving to the main road and igniting it and allowing the council to come and collect when it has cooled down.
I would go with the dealer idea although I like the idea of painting it pink and bird seeds on the roof.
Cover it in grass seed and you could have a hill on the drive in no time.
