Fonic, Tchibo, Lidl Mobile
Probably the easiest to find is Lidl (in their stores), which is an arrangement with Fonic, with cheap decent local and international call rates, and good internet options0 -

I don't believe that any more. I brought a Vectone SIM with me to the USA. No service and I've tried lots of stuff (different Vectone Services settings, manual network selection...) in three cities, two of them among the biggest in the country. No reply from customer services. I'm glad I had more SIMs with me and wifi in the last city!
I do agree as just had first had experience in France .Followed all the instructions on website but still unable to get the signal.
Will try Lycamobile next time as they are charging 7p but still better if it works.0 -
I've got a PAYG mobile. Topped it up before leaving UK (£20.00 Vodafone freedom freebie), haven't made any calls, nor accessed internet, went to send a text & found I couldn't. Checked balance & found only 6p credit ?! The phone shows R roaming signal, can I be charged for roaming without actually using mail or the internet ? Phone is a Tocco Lite & I don't believe I can manually switch roaming off myself. Any help please ?0

Data is so dangerous to one''s topup allowance that I installed WiFiWidget (Android, free) and placed the widget on the home screen, so I can always check that data is firmly OFF unless I toggle it to ON.
iPhones woefully make this setting difficult to manage and don't allow Widgets.

How is accessing Settings, General, Network on an iPhone difficult to manage?
The screen displays an icon when data is enabled and shows which data type. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

Remember to switch Background Sync off again once you've finished with the app store... rather annoying it requires it switched on at all.0
