Maybe it doesn't beat these for roaming data in Europe:0

Thanks - does this apply to payg or is this for pay monthly? I'll try and register it before I go but I leave before 30 days so I think its going to be too late :-(
The 30 days doesn't apply for the PAYG sim, I bought the sim about 2 weeks before leaving. The £15 add on lasts for 30 days so from that point of view don't buy the add on too soon or you will run out before your holiday ends.:j0 -
I have just received a Groupon deal for a WorldSIM, dual sim phone. It states that I can receive free calls on my regular SIM and cheap calls on a second SIM in country. I usually just buy a SIM for a second phone when I travel to Ireland. Does anyone know of, or have experience of this phone, or similar please. WW.

Ok I'm a little confused as it says here http://www.three.co.uk/Discover/Phones/Feel_At_Home?intid=3mainfahrbn1501
* To benefit from Feel At Home, SIM only phone customers must have been with Three for more than 30 days.
I'm not sure if that's a pay monthly sim or a PAYG sim, I have the latter and have allowed 30 days+ prior to my trip by registering and putting credit on it. Does anyone know if this is enough or do I have to use it too?0 -

EDIT: I found some information by googling. I see there are at least two different phones, but it's their sim card that does the job, can be bought separately and can work with any dual-sim phone.
There are quite a few dual sim handsets around: http://www.gsmarena.com/results.php3?sNumberSIMs=1 (most aren't available in UK though).
For Ireland (and many other 'Toggle countries') have a look at http://www.togglemobile.co.uk/home/en. You can receive calls in Ireland for free, call to local numbers for 3p/9p and call to UK for 3p/min.0 -

Hope this isn't too late. The dual sim phone isn't particularly cheap. There are plenty of them on eBay. Also, WorldSim is fine for making outgoing calls but costs a fortune for your friends to call you, as it looks like a UK number 07452 but it registered in Jersey and most UK networks now charge calls to those numbers as international. Whether it's worthwhile depends on where you're travelling to. If Europe, USA, Hong Kong there are much cheaper options than WorldSim. For Ireland I think someone said that Three allow roaming free (but maybe it's just pay monthly) and Toggle Mobile charge 3p/min to call UK - and you have a proper UK number (Im a fan but not connected in any way to Toggle.0 -
Just got back from Corfu where I used my phone a couple of times. I'm with EE and was expecting the Europe roaming rate. Trouble is, the east coast of Corfu is opposite Albania. I had a couple of texts during the week to say 'welcome to Albania' then switched back to Greece in the next text. Trouble is, my calls were made when I was connected to Albania and it cost £1.50 a minute!
Result: big bill when I got home. I've learnt my lesson: next time go to manual roaming, rather than auto, and find a local roaming partner if I'm near the border of a non-EU country.0 -
Currently in France. T-mobile has been working for internet by sending a text to 1024 eg EU20 to buy 20mgb of data for 24 hours. Yesterday this stopped working. On t-mobile/ee site it has a new set of charges with instructions to open internet browser and wait for the page to load. Did that but it now says: there are currently no boosters for you to buy.
I'm using my mum's virgin phone but shes going home today. Need to sort this. Any advice?0 -
I am with T-mobile, currently in Spain, but have no network connection on my phone.
Did I have to tell T mobile I was travelling?
Have always been with O2, and that would always connect to local service when off the plane, but T-mobile did not?0
