Of course not - whilst they aren't holding their purse, they have two hands free to pack their stuff so that when they've paid they can quickly leave.
You don't need to hold your purse. I make sure I have my credit card, loyalty card AND any coupons in my pocket ready to get out BEFORE I stop at a checkout. I would be too ashamed to wait until I had packed my shopping before I looked for my purse.'Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.' And yet apparently you still shop there. I'd imagine if you felt strongly enough you'd vote with your feet?
Perhaps a bit of lateral thinking is the key. Maybe it's down to the shop's locality and lack of choice.
Apparently Lidls are the best payers for staff.
The 'head in the clouds' people who fumble for their purses at the last minute, then count out the money down to the last coin, revelling in the power they possess in keeping others waiting is nothing to do with age or disability because I've seen it many times in over forty years of shopping. It's down to an egotistical personality disorder.“Learn from the mistakes of others. You can never live long enough to make them all yourself.”

Yes same as me, everything I need is already in my pocket. It's amazing that some people haven't figured this out yet and as in the reply you quoted use it as an excuse for holding things up. All that is needed is a little brain!0 -
Or people nipping off for just one more thing..breathe in, breathe out- You're alive! Everything else is a bonus, right? RIGHT??0

Does anyone else get frustrated by those why wait until all of their shopping has gone through the till before they start hunting for their purse/wallet? Given there's usually a queue, why do people do this?
No. I don't get frustrated.
I think that many people are unnecessarily impatient.Grocery challenge 2017 January £158.74/£200

Or people nipping off for just one more thing..
However...(see my previous post)
I have seen husband and wife teams working so that one stands in the queue with a half filled trolley and the other popping back and forth to pick up the rest of the shopping. They seem to have no concern about keeping people waiting while they finish their shopping if they get to the front of the queue.
I used to hate queuing, but I now look upon it as a chance to see what other people are buying.Grocery challenge 2017 January £158.74/£200

I can put up with nearly everything in supermarkets, bar two things, firstly the piped racket that they call "music" (set to get even worse now with Christmas coming up), how is anyone meant to be able to concentrate on what they're looking for? I've given up before now and walked out.
My second gripe - screaming children. A couple of days ago there was a small child sitting in a trolley, simply screaming. Mother totally ignored him. I told him to "shush" and he immediately did. Didn't hear a peep out of him after that - so why couldn't she have done that?
I hate shopping!!!!0 -

There's no music at all in Aldi, even at Christmas!Stompa0 -
I pack my shopping according to where I keep it at home. The fridge stuff all goes into one bag, the fruit and veg in another, etc etc. My mum drives me mad, she just chucks all in together, I don't allow her to touch my shopping, she has to wait by the trolley with her hands in her pockets haha!
I used to let people with one or two items go in front of me but I've been caught out several times with that one. A woman in Lidl asked if she could go in front, with her 2 bananas and a can of something. When she got to the front of the queue, she called out to her mum who came pushing past with two baskets full of stuff!
I once let an old man go in front of me, who then proceeded to racially abuse the very polite young black man who was also in the queue ahead of him.
As for screaming kids....I have a special "look" that often shuts them up. Shame it doesn't work on the parents! :rotfl:"I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0
