  • Well I'm over and I know it :( oh well. I'm £3.64 over as it stands but hey did get a big £8 bag of sawdust near the begining of the month (usually spend £2.69 every 6 weeks for sawdust) so baring this in mind I would still be in budget (at £38.33) if I had got the normal amount. Doesn't matter too much as I'll take whatever I go over by out of next months budget due to the sawdust!! My month ends on the 30th so I shouldn't need to spend much more.

  • Yesterday I spent £66.34 at Tesco  It was weird to spend to much as I have been just getting smaller shops lately..However as It was our 11th Wedding anniversary (Friday) we had fillet steak with dauphinoise pots and green beans for dinner last night (The steak cost me £9 !!!) and also I bought wine and a big pack of cider for dh. I had also run low on stuff like laundry powder, toiletries etc. I also got some nappies to get my points and I am stocked up with them, so they will help in October IYKWIM, I did at least stick totally to my list (unheard of in pre-mse days) and I was using loads of my pts coupons so got 500 clubcard pts with it..

My mealplan is sorted for the week, so it looks like I should be very close to budget which is great (however I am not sure if I have been 100% up to date with my spending this month)

I am really going to be good in October and keep all receipts to see exactly how we are doing...

    Good luck all

  • Happy birthday mike. Just blame the overbudget on the age, my mil does it all the time.

  • checked my spending diary today and total for sept so far is £132.75 with just milk and veggies left for week. When I remember I coulden't manage on £200 a month I am very pleased. We went to 'Jimmys Farm' today and o/h got carried away and bought pork chops, steak and Jimmys sausages, total £21 which he paid for as I eat little red meat and would not pay £7.50 for two pork chops even though they are 'rare breed' . As it was my birthday yesterday was taken out to dinner last night and daughters came around today and bought Kentucky so no cooking over the weekend. Still have plenty of meals left and what pleases me most is I am no longer throwing food out as I only buy what I know we need.
