  • No, not because I'm over budget ( I think I will come in just under by about £5) but because I have spent a frustating evening on MySupermarket. It took 2 hours to fill my trolley for Sainbury's and then it wouldn't send it. After several tries I gave up and logged out. Half an hour later I tried again but no luck. Then I lost my delivery slot and had to rebook, but still couldn't get the send to work. In the end I gave up and checked my emails, only to find no fewer than 5 from MySupermarket saying that they had sent it after all (each email had a different time on it). So I hope they haven't sent the same order 5 times as I filled my trolley with bulky dry goods and if they send 5 lots I won't have the space to store it all and I'll have blown the budget for October and November!

I suppose if Sainsbury's do try to deliver 5 lots I will be able to send it back and get a refund!

I thought I was being clever as I reviewed all my spending for the last two months and worked out how much I bought of things like kitchen roll and loo rolls etc and ordered enough for one month, leaving the fresh stuff for me to buy weekly. I thought it would save time and money!

Apart from this I am happy with the way the budget has gone this month, despite my DH who was sent to buy 4 pints of milk from the local shop for his mum this morning and came back with 6. When I sent him back to change it he came back with 2 lots of 4pts, so I had to buy one of them (and it cost £1-40!). Still I have put it in the freezer for next weekend.

I'll keep you posted on the MySupermarket fiasco! Wish me luck!

    Night night all.

... We went to 'Jimmys Farm' today and o/h got carried away and bought pork chops, steak and Jimmys sausages, total £21 which he paid for as I eat little red meat and would not pay £7.50 for two pork chops even though they are 'rare breed' . As it was my birthday yesterday was taken out to dinner last night and daughters came around today and bought Kentucky so no cooking over the weekend.

how I envy you, being close to Jimmy's farm! I'd love to visit, though not sure I'd pay that much for pork chops either, but I would love to see the place for real.

and :bdaycake: Happy birthday for yesterday!! :bdaycake:

and though I already wished him hb elsewhere :bdaycake: Happy Birthday Mike! :bdaycake: ;)

  • Thanks for birthday wishes and a belated birthday wish for Mike.
Jimmys Farm was very interesting, beautiful sunny day for walk through nature trail. Dolly appeared at the guinea pig enclosure and kept us all amused. They have managed to erect a tent with tables and chairs (donated I heard someone say) near the vegetable garden and now serve hot dogs and such with tea and coffee etc. I was very impressed by the vegetable garden as we are thinking of getting an allotment to share with my dd and got plenty of good ideas. Also a herb garden there. We live in Norfolk so just one hours drive to Ipswich and was impressed with the large crowd there yesterday so hopefully he is making some money at last. I wish him the best of luck and look forward to the new series.;)
  • I am so pleased and impressed to see all those that are sticking well to their budgets. I know that I'll be one of you one day soon but not this month again. :o

I obviously must be a slow learn as I'm still tipping over my budget each month and still grabbing 'must have' bargains which I tell myself will save me money the next month. Although this is true, I have to allow for the money in my budget. (Have a lovely stock of marmite from the tescos meg reductions  ).

Oh well, looking forward to getting rid of this week so I can start a fresh on Saturday with my Oct challenge. Still excited and hopeful I'll do it next month. I WILL NOT give up. ;)

Thanks everybody for your birthday wishes and very belated Happy Birthday Irish Wexford.

Hope you are feeling better Rosieben.

Bit of a mess-up on the bookeeping front, did not carry over a portion of Mr T's delivery on the 19th into next month, so not quite as bad as I thought.

Good luck everyone as the month-end draws nigh. :)

I know the feeling about MySupermarket. I cannot get it to log itself on to my Tesco Favourites as the logon screen will not appear. I emailed MySupermarket and after a considerable wait got a reply back saying that they couldn't understand the problem as they had never had any problems before. I have replied giving more details and am still waiting a response. Are they Hopeless or What???:mad:

By the way Moniker you can always go to the Sainsbury's site and check your order status, and if there is more than one current order you can cancel any surplus ones.

I had a tesco shop this moring, £63.44 but also nipped to asda as we needed some airtight storage containers and wilkos too so spent 13.14 on top of shopping... total spent.....£76.58 Leaving me with £13.42 I should come in under budget this week (only because I have upped it;))
